An integrated magnetic resonance (MR) and positron emission tomography (PET) system includes an MR scanner including a magnet that defines an opening in which a subject is positioned, a set of PET detectors disposed between the opening and the magnet, and a plurality of data processing units, each data processing unit being configured for communication with a respective one or more of the PET detectors of the set of PET detectors. Each data processing unit includes an RF shield housing, and the RF shield housings of the plurality of data processing units are disposed in a symmetrical arrangement relative to the opening.

Data processing unit integration for MR-PET imaging

An imaging system includes interleaved emission detectors and transmission detectors. Emission detectors and transmission detectors can be interleaved along the axis of relative patient motion. Emission detectors and transmission detectors can be interleaved orthogonal to the axis of relative patient motion. Emission detectors can be single photon emission computed tomography detectors and the transmission detectors can be x-ray computed tomography detectors.

Multimodality imaging

A system and method is provided for performing multimodal imaging of an object. The system and method includes performing spatio-temporal detection of transmission CT data of a fan X-ray beam, performing, and simultaneously with the spatio-temporal detection of transmission CT data, spatio-temporal detection of emission nuclear imaging data emitted from the object with a propagation direction across the propagation direction of the fan X-ray beam. The system and method further includes identifying at least two zones in the object based on the transmission CT data, reconstructing an image object from the emission nuclear imaging data under the constraint that respective portions of detected nuclear events are associated with selected zones, and outputting data representative of the image object.

Multimodality imaging system

The internal area has an interior periphery and an exterior periphery, at least one rail, at least one mobile camera, that is movably mounted on the at least one rail, and at least one motor. The motor drives at least one mobile camera, and the at least one mobile camera is movable along at least one rail within the exterior casing, to a plurality of radiation receiving positions.

Then, on the basis of the determined data, of which it has been notified by telecommunication, the service center determines a measure for dealing with the problem and gives notice of it by telecommunication, whereupon the measure for dealing with the problem is taken and a test of the medical apparatus is performed.

A CT (computed tomography) apparatus has a detector system which produces an x-ray beam that rotates around a system axis, and which produces data representing attenuation of the x-rays by an examination subject, and a data transmission path for the transmission of data from the detector system to an image reconstruction computer that is stationary relative to the detector system. Data required for a live image are extracted from the data supplied by the detector system during the scanning of a subject under examination, and are transmitted during the scanning to the image reconstruction computer via the data transmission path and after completion of the scanning, all data supplied by the detector system during the scanning are transmitted to the image reconstruction computer.
