An exhaust system including a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) component and an oxidation catalyst component. The exhaust system also includes an exhaust treatment fluid injection system for dispersing an exhaust treatment fluid into an exhaust stream at a location adjacent either the SCR component or the oxidation catalyst component, wherein the exhaust treatment fluid injection device includes a common rail that provides the exhaust treatment fluid under pressure to a plurality of injectors that dose the exhaust treatment fluid into the exhaust stream. The exhaust treatment fluid injection device also includes a return rail for returning unused exhaust treatment fluid to the fluid source. Each of the common rail and return rail can be configured to allow drainage of the exhaust treatment fluid as a freeze-protection feature.

Urea common rail

A modular exhaust after-treatment system including a plurality of exhaust after-treatment modules. Each module includes a housing defining a non-linear flow path arranged between an inlet passage and an outlet passage. The non-linear flow path includes a first portion adjacent the inlet passage that includes a first exhaust treatment component, a second portion downstream from the first portion, and a third portion downstream from second portion adjacent the outlet passage, wherein the third portion includes a second exhaust treatment component. The plurality of exhaust after-treatment modules are secured to each other in either horizontally or vertically.

Modular exhaust treatment system

An exhaust system including a plurality of exhaust treatment devices, plurality of injectors for dosing an exhaust treatment fluid into an exhaust stream, and a controller for controlling each of the plurality of injectors. The controller actively controls an amount of exhaust treatment fluid dosed into the exhaust stream by each of the plurality of injectors based on at least one of an exhaust flow rate and a temperature of the exhaust stream.

Reductant injection control system

An exhaust system for an engine having a plurality of combustion chambers includes a housing containing a first array of parallel positioned emission treatment devices and a second array of parallel positioned emission treatment devices axially spaced apart from one another. A first exhaust passageway is in fluid communication with the combustion chambers and contains the first array of emission treatment devices. A second and separate exhaust passageway is in fluid communication with the combustion chambers and contains the second array of emission treatment devices. A first valve restricts the exhaust flow through the first exhaust passageway. A second valve restricts the exhaust flow through the second exhaust passageway.

High volume exhaust gas treatment system

An exhaust mixer () is provided for use in an engine exhaust system () downstream from an additive injector (). The mixer () includes eight vanes (), with four of the vanes (A) extending from a first side () of the mixer () and arranged in an equally spaced circumferential array around a central axis (), and the other four of the vanes (B) extending from an opposite side () of the mixer () and arranged opposite from the other four vanes (A) in an equally spaced circumferential array.

Exhaust gas additive/treatment system and mixer for use therein

An exhaust mixer () is provided for use in an engine exhaust system () downstream from an additive injector (). The mixer () includes eight vanes (), with four of the vanes (A) extending from a first side () of the mixer () and arranged in an equally spaced circumferential array around a central axis (), and the other four of the vanes (B) extending from an opposite side () of the mixer () and arranged opposite from the other four vanes (A) in an equally spaced circumferential array. The vanes () include embossed ribs () and mount flanges ().

A system for controlling the temperature of an exhaust stream includes a main exhaust passageway adapted to receive the exhaust stream from an engine. A bypass passage includes an inlet and an outlet in communication with the main exhaust passageway. The outlet is located downstream from the inlet. A burner is positioned within the bypass passage for treating the exhaust passing through the bypass passage. A valve is positioned within the main exhaust passageway downstream from the inlet and upstream from the outlet. The valve is operable to vary the exhaust flow through the burner. A controller selectively operates the burner to maintain a desired exhaust temperature downstream of the outlet.

Snapper valve for hot end systems with burners

An exhaust mixer () is provided for use in an engine exhaust system () downstream from an additive injector (). The mixer () includes a first wall structure (), and a second wall structure () carrying a set of mixer vanes (), the second wall structure () being cone shaped and extending radially outwardly from the first wall structure ().
