Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a sidelink transmission that includes a transport block, and may transmit sidelink feedback, for each of a plurality of code block groups included in the transport block, in respective physical sidelink feedback channel (PSFCH) resources. In some aspects, a UE may receive a sidelink transmission that spans a plurality of slots, and may transmitting, for the sidelink transmission, sidelink feedback in at least one of: first one or more PSFCH resources that occur during the sidelink transmission, or second one or more PSFCH resources that occur after the sidelink transmission. Feedback for sidelink transmissions

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A network node may store, in a first buffer, a first set of transport blocks (TBs) received at the network node over a wireless channel during a first time window. The network node may store, in a second buffer, a second set of TBs received at the network node over the wireless channel during a second time window and according to at least one monitoring criterion. The network node may receive a first set of one or more network coding messages over the wireless channel. The network node may decode the first set of one or more network coding messages based on the first set of TBs in the first buffer. The network node may transmit a second set of one or more network coding messages corresponding to a portion of the second set of TBs in the second buffer.

Distributed multi-encoder network coding design

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a mobile station may transmit, from the mobile station to an encoding device, acknowledgement or negative acknowledgement (ACK-NACK) feedback based at least in part on a transmission by the encoding device, wherein the ACK-NACK feedback is associated with a feedback bin, and wherein the feedback bin is associated with a location of the mobile station. Apparatus, methods, and computer program products for handover of transport blocks (TBs) for network coding are provided. An example method may include receiving, from a user equipment (UE), a transport block (TB) associated with a networking coding request. The example method may further include transmitting, based on at least one of first movement information of the UE, second movement information of one or more recipients of the TB, or a TB load of the first network coding device being above a threshold, a handover request message to a network entity for handover of the TB to a second network coding device. The handover request message may be for a handover of the TB to a second network coding device.

Disclosed are systems and techniques for performing wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may determine at least one parameter associated with a sidelink communication. Based on the at least one parameter, the wireless communication device may determine a status of a network coding indicator corresponding to the sidelink communication. The wireless communication device may transmit the sidelink communication and the network coding indicator including the determined status to at least one network entity configured to perform network coding.

Signaling for network coding of sidelink communications

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless communications device, such as a roadside unit (RSU) or a user equipment (UE), may transmit a network coding packet on a sidelink to perform an efficient retransmission for multiple packets. In some systems, a base station may coordinate sidelink communications between devices, such as by granting resources for the devices to communicate on the sidelink. The device which transmits the network coding packet may request resources from the base station, and the base station may grant resources for the device to transmit the network coding packet. These techniques may be implemented to prevent the base station from granting resources to the original source UEs for retransmission.

Techniques for granting resources for network coding procedures

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first network coding device may determine to hand over retransmission of a packet (e.g., the task of retransmitting the packet) to a second network coding device, and the first network coding device may use the techniques described herein to perform the handover. In one aspect, the first network coding device may transmit a negative acknowledgment (NACK) to a user equipment (UE) that originally transmitted the packet, and the UE may transmit a request for any of one or more network coding devices to take over retransmission of the packet. In another aspect, the first network coding device may transmit a request for any of one or more network coding devices to take over retransmission of the packet.

Network coding handover between network coding devices

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) and multiple network coding devices may communicate to reduce multiple network coding devices accepting a same take over request message from the UE for a given data packet. In some examples, the multiple network coding devices may determine respective backoff periods to wait before accepting the take over request message such that each backoff period is different for each network coding device. In some examples, the UE may receive respective broadcast messages from each of the multiple network coding devices that indicate a network coding capability parameter, and the UE may select a network coding device based on the received capability parameter. In some examples, a network coding device may transmit an indication of packet overload and refrain from accepting a take over request message.

Signaling exchange reduction designs for multi-encoder selection

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A scheduling device may indicate that a transmit power remains constant for a duration of time. A transmitting user equipment (UE) may transmit reference signals on dedicated resources for automatic gain control (AGC) training. As the transmit power from the transmitting UE may remain constant, a receiving UE may determine an AGC configuration for current and subsequent transmissions based on measurements made on the dedicated resources. By using a prior transmission to determine an AGC configuration for a current transmission, a training symbol may not be included in each slot. A symbol formerly used for AGC training in the current transmission may be used to carry sidelink information.

Techniques for automatic gain control in sidelink systems

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, an encoder device may receive, from a base station, in accordance with a buffer configuration of the encoder device or a buffer report associated with the encoder device, an indication of a set of transport blocks (TBs) for a network coded sidelink retransmission, the set of TBs associated with one or more sidelink transmissions. The encoder device may transmit the network coded sidelink retransmission based at least in part on encoding TBs, included in the set of TBs, that are stored in a buffer of the encoder device. Signaling for network coded sidelink retransmissions

This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus, and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for a UE scheduling grant based on a pro-scheduler implementation. A first UE may transmit a first sidelink grant transmission to a second UE with a resource reservation for a second sidelink grant transmission from the first UE. The second UE may select a sidelink resource that avoids an overlap with the resource reservation for the sidelink grant transmission from the first UE and transmit a sidelink transmission using the sidelink resource that avoids the overlap with the resource reservation. In further aspects, the second UE may transmit a sidelink transmission based on the first sidelink grant.

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, an encoder device may transmit a network coded sidelink retransmission that is associated with a set of transport blocks (TBs), the set of TBs associated with one or more sidelink transmissions. The encoder device may receive, from one or more user equipments (UEs), first feedback information, associated with the network coded sidelink retransmission, that indicates whether the one or more UEs successfully decoded the set of TBs. Feedback for network coded sidelink retransmissions

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a receiving device may receive, from a transmitting device that is configured to perform network coding on information from an originating device, one or more transport blocks (TBs) including the information and associated with an erasure coding scheme. The receiving device may perform decoding using the erasure coding scheme and at least one TB, of the one or more TBs. The at least one TB is selected using one or more time conditions, one or more group conditions, one or more settings indicated by the transmitting device, or a combination thereof. Selecting transport blocks for network coding

Aspects relate to techniques for MCS selection of a packet to be network coded for sidelink communication. A transmitting UE may encode a packet using an MCS that is greater than a normal MCS that may be used for encoding the packet without network coding. The transmitting UE may then transmit the encoded packet to one or more receiving UEs and a network coding device over a sidelink data channel. The transmitting UE may further transmit a network coding request flag associated with the packet to initiate one or more retransmissions of the packet by the network coding device.
