Described are implementations of systems and methods for an improved machine learning-based system that incorporates pre-operative and intraoperative measurements captured during surgery, as well as additional patient-specific data, to provide an individualized, highly accurate post-operative manifest refraction prediction. According to some embodiments, a determination engine generates a predictive feature set of one or more predictors associated with diagnostic measurements of one or more eyes and performs a recursive selection operation using one or more combinations within the predictive feature set and one or more models to produce a most predictive subset, the most predictive subset having a highest prediction accuracy among other predictive subsets for post-operative manifest refraction. The determination engine generates a determination model by refining and retraining the one or more models of the recursive selection operation utilizing the most predictive subset.

Prediction of IOL power

A system for determining a vision treatment for an eye of a patient is provided which includes a memory and a processor, in communication with the memory, configured to receive a first treatment target corresponding to a first target shape of a surface of the eye, obtain a periphery modification function (PMF), determine a second treatment target corresponding to a second target shape of the surface of the eye by multiplying, for each of a plurality of points on the surface of the eye, the PMF by the first treatment target, and scale the second treatment target using a scaling factor such that values of the second treatment target are scaled to be greater at a mid-periphery of the eye and scaled to be lower at a far-periphery of the eye. A treatment parameter of a treatment applied to the surface of the eye is controlled by the scaled second treatment target.

Systems and methods for reducing spherical aberration using periphery modification

Systems, methods, and computer program products are provided for the administration of ablation profiles during refractive surgery treatments. Basis data framework techniques enable the implementation of ablation profiles having various shapes, resulting in increased ablation accuracy when treating certain vision conditions. Exemplary basis data architecture approaches are configured to efficiently operate with annular, elliptical, and slit laser beam shapes.

Basis data evaluation systems and methods

Embodiments of the present invention encompass systems and methods for generating a vision treatment target for an eye of a patient. Exemplary techniques can involve obtaining a wavefront measurement for the eye of the patient, processing the wavefront measurement, using a low pass filter, to obtain an ocular wavefront, and generating the vision treatment target based on the ocular wavefront. In some cases, the wavefront is processed by applying a Fourier transform to the wavefront measurement to obtain a Fourier spectrum of the wavefront, convolving, in the Fourier domain, the Fourier spectrum of the wavefront and the low pass filter to obtain a Fourier spectrum convolution result, and applying an inverse transform to the convolution result to obtain the ocular wavefront. The ocular wavefront can represent a low pass filtered version of the wavefront measurement, such that high spatial frequency features present in the wavefront measurement are not present in the ocular wavefront.

Wavefront measurements of eyes are often taken when the pupil is in a first configuration in an evaluation context. The results can be represented by a set of basis function coefficients. Prescriptive treatments are often applied in a treatment context, which is different from the evaluation context. Hence, the patient pupil can be in a different, second configuration, during treatment. Systems and methods are provided for determining a transformed set of basis function coefficients, based on a difference between the first and second configurations, which can be used to establish the vision treatment.

Methods and systems for obtaining an ocular aberration measurement of an eye of a patient are provided. Exemplary techniques involve obtaining a first induced metric for the eye that corresponds to a first accommodation state of the eye, obtaining a second induced metric for the eye that corresponds to a second accommodation state of the eye, and determining a natural metric of the eye based on the first and second induced metrics. An induced metric may include a pupil size or a spherical aberration. Techniques can also include determining a target metric for the eye base on the natural metric, determining whether an actual metric of the eye meets the target metric, obtaining an ocular aberration measurement of the eye if the actual metric meets the target metric, and determining a treatment for the eye based on the ocular aberration measurement.

Accommodation compensation systems and methods
