A receptacle connector matched with a plug connector includes an insulating housing, a plurality of upper and lower terminals, a locating element and a shielding shell surrounding the insulating housing. The insulating housing defines an accommodating space, and a plurality of upper and lower terminal grooves communicating with the accommodating space. Each upper terminal disposed in the upper terminal groove has a first fastening portion, a first contact portion contacting with the plug connector, and a first soldering portion. Each lower terminal disposed in the lower terminal groove has a second fastening portion, a second contact portion contacting with the plug connector, and a second soldering portion. The locating element positioned in the accommodating space defines a plurality of through-holes aligned with the upper and lower terminal grooves respectively. The first and second soldering portions further pass through the through-holes to be soldered with a circuit board.

Receptacle connector

An electrical connector includes an insulating housing having a base body of which a front surface is inclined to act as a mating face. The mating face is concaved rearward to define a plurality of terminal grooves penetrating through the base body and a plurality of receiving grooves of substantial U-shape each surrounding one of the terminal grooves. Wherein there are some terminal grooves without being surrounded by any receiving grooves and each of them is located between every two adjacent receiving grooves. A plurality of terminals is inserted forward in the terminal grooves of the insulating housing respectively. Each terminal has a contact end exposed outside through a front end of the corresponding terminal groove. A plurality of magnet units each is of substantial U-shape and is assembled in the receiving groove of the insulating housing.

A shielding shell includes a front shell curved from a metal plate and having a base board and two side boards, and a rear shell having a base plate of which a front edge is connected with a rear edge of the base board. Two side plates extend downward from two opposite side edges of the base plate and each is connected with a rear edge of the side board of the front shell by virtue of a strengthening structure. The strengthening structure includes a first strengthening arm extending towards the corresponding side plate from a rear edge of the side board, and a second strengthening arm extending towards the corresponding side board from a front edge of the side plate to be buckled with the first strengthening arm so as to secure the side plate and the corresponding side board together.

Shielding shell of a connector

A plug connector includes an insulating housing, a plurality of first terminals which are adapted to connect with a mating receptacle connector and include a first ground terminal, a first power terminal for connecting with an external power supply and at least two first signal terminals, a plurality of second terminals which include second power terminals adapted to transmit different voltage values, second ground terminals and a backup terminal, and a support body mounted to a rear side of the insulating housing. The first and second terminals are inserted forward in the insulating housing and each has a soldering arm penetrating rearward through the support body to be exposed outside and supported by the support body. A shielding shell encloses the insulating housing and the support body with the first and second terminals.

An electrical connector includes an insulating housing, and a plurality of electrical contacts assembled in the insulating housing respectively. At least two of the electrical contacts having the same transmitting action are short connected together in the process of manufacturing the electrical contacts. So the process of utilizing a wire to achieve a short connection between the corresponding electrical contacts, as described in the prior art, is omitted, and it saves a lot of manpower and material resources, and further simplifies the process for achieving the short connection effect.
