A device for activating a vehicle function. The device being intended to be housed on board a vehicle and includes at least one ultra-wideband communication antenna and at least one near-field communication antenna in order to communicate with an item of portable equipment carried by a user. The function being activated based on a location of the item of equipment with respect to the vehicle and on an authentication of the item of equipment. The windings of the near-field communication antenna delimit a perimeter of a receptacle in which the ultra-wideband communication antenna is located.

Disclosed is a system for detecting approach and/or contact of a user and Ultra High Frequency communication with a portable user apparatus, intended to be embedded on board an automotive vehicle, the system including: a device for detecting approach and/or contact, including a sensor for detecting approach and/or contact and an electronic control unit; a conducting metal surface, suitable for the conduction of electric charges; and a communication device, including an Ultra High Frequency antenna emitting an electromagnetic field at an Ultra High Frequency wavelength, and a management unit for managing the emission and reception of data of the antenna. The conducting metal surface takes the form of a continuous path including a plurality of meanders spread over a length at least equal to:=&#x3bb;/6wherein L is a total length of the meanders, and &#x3bb; is a wavelength of the Ultra High Frequency antenna.

System for detecting approach and/or contact of a user and ultra high frequency communication with a portable user apparatus

A handle for a motor vehicle opening, equipped with an ultra-high-frequency antenna having a device for transmitting and receiving a signal at a predetermined wavelength, with a device for detecting the approach of and/or contact by a user, with a printed circuit board and with at least one connecting cable intended for electrically connecting the printed circuit board to an electronic control unit. The at least one connecting cable has a section either projecting from the remainder of the at least one connecting cable or surrounded by an electromagnetically insulating coating coaxial with the at least one connecting cable, a length of the projecting section or a length of the coaxial coating being equal to one quarter of said predetermined wavelength with a tolerance of +/&#x2212;20%.

Door handle with means for reducing ultra-high-frequency communication radiation

A method for detecting a user's intention to lock or to unlock a door of a motor vehicle, using a detection device integrated into a handle of the door, including an ultra-high-frequency antenna, one face of which is situated close to a second outer locking surface or respectively a first outer unlocking surface of the handle, an ultra-high-frequency antenna matching circuit, an ultra-high-frequency signal generator and an electronic unit. The method includes determining a parameter representative of a ratio between a power of a signal transmitted by the ultra-high-frequency signal generator to the ultra-high-frequency antenna and a power of a signal reflected from the ultra-high-frequency antenna to the ultra-high-frequency signal generator, which powers are measured beforehand, and detecting the intention to lock or respectively to unlock when the parameter is higher than or lower than a predetermined threshold.
