Cooling plate for metallurgical furnaces

A blast furnace cooling arrangemenet comprises a cooling screen which is disposed in an annular space between a furnace shell and its lining, and which is formed by vertically arranged rows of plates provided with main and additional internal ducts having common inlets and common outlets. Mounted above the cooling screen are drum separators which communicate through supply pipelines and take-off pipelines with the common inlets and outlets of the main and additional ducts of the plates of each vertical row, the above elements forming closed circuits of natural circulation of a cooling medium. Connected at the common inlets and outlets of the additional ducts of the vertical rows of the plates are circuits of forced circulation of a cooling medium. Each of the circuitsof forced circulation comprises a container communicating with the common outlet of the additional ducts, a heat exchanger connected with the container, and a pump communicating through its inlet with the heat exchanger and through its outlet with the common inlet of the additional ducts in the vertical row of the plates. The common inlets and outlets of the additional ducts are provided with distributing valves intended to selectively connect the additional ducts to the circuits of natural and forced circulation of a cooling medium.

Blast furnace cooling arrangement

The arrangement for cooling the bottom of a blast furnace comprises cooling plates mounted between the furnace lining and shell and forming vertical and horizontal rows. Each cooling plate incorporates coil pipes situated in two planes parallel to the furnace shell, the coil pipes being connected to each other in vertical rows. There are at least two coil pipes in one of the vertical planes in each plate. Such coil pipes in the plates mounted in the uppermost horizontal row are connected to coil pipes mounted in the top portion of the furnace in two different vertical planes. At least one coil pipe is situated in the other vertical plane in each cooling plate. The coil pipes in the plates mounted in the lowermost horizontal row are controllably connected to cooling medium feed collectors of the furnace common cooling system and to a high-pressure cooling medium source. Same coil pipes incorporated in the plates mounted in the uppermost horizontal row are controllably connected to the cooling medium return collector of the furnace common cooling system and to a high-pressure cooling medium receiver.

Blast furnace bottom cooling arrangement

A device which is a natural circulation cooling water system, comprising coolers made up of several rows of vertical tubes for cooling water, a header supplying cooling water to said tubes from a separating tank, being referred hereinafter to as a separator, and a header discharging steam-water mixture from the coolers to the separator. Both the inlets and outlets of the rows of the cooler tubes are in addition individually connected through cutoff means to a service water supply pipe and to a drain pipeline accordingly. The cutoff means are designed so that when they are placed in one position the tubes are connected to the cooling water natural circulation system while in another position they are coupled to a service water cooling system.

Device for evaporative cooling of metallurgical units

An apparatus comprising one or more closed systems for the natural circulation of cooling water, comprising a cooling-water manifold, a pipeline for feeding water from the manifold to one or more coolers or cooler sections in the system, and steam-water pipelines for discharging the mixture from the coolers. Each cooler or section may be provided with an individual steam separator communicating with its steam outlet to an associated discharge pipeline, and connected with its water side to the steam side of the manifold.

Apparatus for evaporative cooling of metallurgical plants

An evaporative cooler for a blast furnace which is provided with a stave having a projection extending crosswise adjacent to the stave end face. The stave and the projection are provided with built-in pipes for a cooling agent to pass therethrough, with the pipe built into the projection being so arranged that its inlet and outlet end portions are interposed between the outlet end portions of the pipes incorporated in the stave. Such an arrangement of the pipes in the cooler provides for its extended service life.
