A method for implementing a neural network system in an integrated circuit includes presenting digital pulses to word line inputs of a matrix vector multiplier including a plurality of word lines, the word lines forming intersections with a plurality of summing bit lines, a programmable Vt transistor at each intersection having a gate connected to the intersecting word line, a source connected to a fixed potential and a drain connected to the intersecting summing bit line, each digital pulse having a pulse width proportional to an analog quantity. During a charge collection time frame charge collected on each of the summing bit lines from current flowing in the programmable Vt transistor is summed. During a pulse generating time frame digital pulses are generated having pulse widths proportional to the amount of charge that was collected on each summing bit line during the charge collection time frame.

Method for combining analog neural net with FPGA routing in a monolithic integrated circuit

A user programmable integrated circuit includes a user-programmable routing network including a plurality of interconnect conductors selectively couplable to one another by user-programmable elements. A plurality of matrix vector multipliers, each have a plurality of word lines, each word line coupled to a different first one of the one of the interconnect conductors of the user-programmable routing network, the word lines forming intersections with a plurality of summing bit lines, a programmable Vt transistor at each intersection having a gate connected to the intersecting word line, a source connected to a fixed potential and a drain connected to the intersecting summing bit line. A charge-to-pulse-width converter circuit is associated with each one of the matrix vector multipliers, each having an input coupled to one of the summing bit lines, and a pulse output coupled to a different second one of the interconnect conductors of the user-programmable routing network.

Apparatus and method for combining analog neural net with FPGA routing in a monolithic integrated circuit

A delay line compensated for process, voltage, and temperature variations, includes a delay locked loop (DLL) configured to delay a digital signal by the clock period of the digital signal, the DLL including a DLL delay line arranged as a plurality of cascaded sub-delay lines each sub-delay line providing one of a plurality of delay quanta in response to a digital control signal. A fractionating circuit is configured to generate a digital delay line control signal that is a fraction of the digital control signal. A digital delay line is arranged as a plurality of cascaded sub-delay lines each sub-delay line providing one of a plurality of delay quanta in response to the digital delay line control signal.

Programmable delay line compensated for process, voltage, and temperature

A method and apparatus are provided for an error-correcting FPGA. ECC data for configuration is generated and programmed into the ECC rows in the configuration memory. While booting, it is determined whether an integrity-check bit is set. If so, an integrity check is performed. If a single-bit error is detected, if the bit error is an erroneous '0' value, the memory location containing the erroneous '0' value is reprogrammed to a &#x201c;1&#x201d; value. If the bit error is an erroneous &#x201c;1,&#x201d; value, the memory block data is saved in a non-volatile memory block, the configuration memory block containing the error is erased and reprogrammed using the corrected bit. If there is more than one error, an error flag is set. The user reads the status of the error flag through the JTAG port. If the error flag is set then a full reprogramming cycle is initiated.

An I/O scheme for an integrated circuit includes a group layout cell. The group layout cell includes a plurality of signal I/O pads. A driver circuit is coupled to each signal I/O pad. The group layout cell also includes two I/O driver-circuit power-supply pads. ESD protection circuitry is coupled to the plurality of driver circuits. The signal I/O pads and the I/O driver-circuit power-supply pads are arranged in rows. The rows may be regular or staggered.

The device comprises a microcontroller block and a programmable logic block with programming circuitry, and has a sub-bus which couples the microcontroller block to the programming circuitry.

A power-up and power-down circuit for an integrated circuit includes a voltage regulator set for a first voltage. A first I/O pad is coupled internally to an input to the voltage regulator and to first internal circuits. The second voltage is externally coupled to the first I/O pad. A second I/O pad is coupled internally to an output of the voltage regulator configured to drive the base of an external transistor. A third I/O pad of the integrated circuit is coupled internally to a reference-voltage input of the voltage regulator. A fourth I/O pad is coupled to a feedback input of the voltage regulator. A fifth I/O pad of the integrated circuit is coupled internally to logic circuitry that controls power-up and power down of the integrated circuit from internal signals including internal signals from a real-time clock circuit disposed on the integrated circuit.

A programmable logic device (PLD) with a plurality of programmable regions is disclosed. Some of the programmable regions have switch power or ground supplies to allow them to be put into a low-power state in one or more low-power modes. At least one of the programmable regions always remains on during the low-power modes to enable the user to design custom PLD power management logic that may be placed in the always-on programmable region.

An ESD protection circuit is disclosed for an n-channel MOS transistor formed in an inner p-well of a triple-well process and connected to an I/O pad that may experience both positive and negative voltages according to the present invention. A first switch connects the p-well containing the n-channel MOS transistor to ground if the voltage at the I/O pad is positive and a second switch connects the p-well containing the n-channel MOS transistor to the I/O pad if the voltage at the I/O pad is negative. A third switch connects the gate of the n-channel MOS transistor to the p-well if it is turned off and a fourth switch connects the gate of the n-channel MOS transistor to Vif it is turned on.

An integrated circuit includes a plurality of inputs, a plurality of output pads, a programmable logic block, an analog circuit block, an analog-to-digital converter programmably coupleable to individual analog circuits in the analog circuit block, and an interconnect architecture programmably coupling selected ones of the plurality of inputs, the plurality of outputs, the programmable logic block, the analog circuit block, and the analog-to-digital converter. At least one of the inputs may be programmably configured as one of a digital input programmably coupleable to elements in the programmable logic block or as an analog input to an analog circuit in the analog circuit block.
