A hurdle with a riser assembly having a gate board attached to movable gate tubes that telescope upon uprights and with a cross support between the trailing ends of the legs has a height adjustment system that includes a pedal in the cross support. Depressing the pedal retracts spring loaded posts to allow a user to hold and move the gate board up or down with the hands.

A vaulting pole has seven layers. The first layer is a helical E-glass tape, the second layer is a crosswise helical E-glass tape, the third layer is an UHP-glass body wrap, the fourth layer is an S-glass body wrap, the fifth layer is a carbon fiber body wrap, the sixth layer is an S-glass body wrap, and the seventh layer is an S-glass trapezoidal sail piece.

A basketball goal assembly includes a suspended vertical mast, a backstop, a rim, at least one mounting bracket, at least two U-bolts straddling the mast for attaching the goal to the mast, and a safety bracket. The safety bracket straddles a U-bolt. The safety bracket reduces the possibility of the goal falling off the mast and also provides a visual indicator when the goal has begun to slip downward.

A discus has a top plate formed of a perforated aluminum sheet fused with carbon fiber, a bottom plate formed of a perforated aluminum sheet fused with carbon fiber, a weighted spool between the top plate and the bottom plate, and a ring connecting the top plate to the bottom plate.

A docking tray for receiving a basketball goal includes: (a) a base having a front, a rear, and two sides, the front being wider than the rear and the two sides narrowing from front to rear; (b) two side walls extending upwardly along the sides of the base; (c) a rear wall extending upwardly along the rear of the base, the base, side walls, and rear wall forming an enclosure for a rear wheel of a basketball goal; and (d) a retainer for engaging, orienting, and securing a base of a basketball goal.

An adjustable height hurdle has a wall with a plurality of vertically spaced apart bores inside each upright. A vertical actuator inside each upright and gate tube engages the bores. The exteriors of the uprights and gate tubes are solid so that no dirt or water enters the interior of the hurdle.

A vacuum cleaner having a base with a: nozzle opening, rear housing attached to the base, dirt separator with inlet and outlet passages, vacuum fan, accessory hose, and valve system to connect the separator alternately to the nozzle opening and hose. The valve system has a valve body having a first inlet connected to the nozzle opening and a second inlet connected to the hose, a hose connector that pivots with respect to the valve body, a connector passage through the hose connector, and a flexible outlet hose having a first end connected to the connector passage and a second end connected to the separator inlet passage. The valve inlets are generally equidistant from the connector pivot and the hose connector is pivotable to rotate the first hose end relative to the second hose end to selectively place the connector passage in communication with the first and second valve inlets.

A vacuum cleaner housing member having a rigid frame, a grate and a flexible cover. The rigid frame has an outer perimeter and an opening therethrough. The grate is mounted in the opening and has an inner surface, an outer surface, one or more air passages extending from the inner surface to the outer surface, and an outer perimeter wall defining the peripheral edge of the grate. The flexible cover extends over at least one of the one or more air passages and is positioned over at least a portion of the outer surface, extends around at least a portion of the outer perimeter wall, and is positioned over at least a portion of the inner surface. A vacuum cleaner including the housing members similar to the foregoing member is also provided.

A vacuum cleaner having a base adapted to be moved on a surface to be cleaned, an inlet nozzle disposed on a lower surface of the base, a vacuum source, and a dirt receptacle. A lower handle is pivotally attached to the base at a lower pivot, and an upper handle is pivotally attached to the lower handle at an upper pivot. In one aspect, the vacuum cleaner includes an automatically-operated lower pivot lock that can restrict relative rotation between the lower handle and the base, and a manually-operated upper pivot lock that can restrict relative rotation between the upper handle and the lower handle. In another aspect, the vacuum cleaner includes a telescoping upper handle with electrical controls attached to the upper telescopic section of the upper handle. In still another aspect, the vacuum cleaner includes an exhaust vent located on an upwardly-facing surface of the base.
