An example system to clean a continuous substrate includes: one or more high pressure nozzles configured to spray a high pressure, low flow spray of a first cleaning fluid at the continuous substrate to remove particulate matter from the continuous substrate; an agitation bath and a plurality of rollers configured to transport the continuous substrate from a first volume having the high pressure, low volume spray, to a second volume having the agitation bath; an agitator in the agitation bath, comprising at least one of a megasonic transducer or an ultrasonic transducer, and configured to direct energy at the continuous substrate; and a vacuum roller configured to vacuum moisture from the continuous substrate during transporting of the continuous substrate from the first volume to the second volume; a dryer configured to dry the continuous substrate.

Systems and methods to clean a continuous substrate

A sorptive wiper for cleaning is disclosed, the wipe comprising a cleaned and dried sorptive material having fewer than 150 contaminant fibers per square meter that are greater than 100 &#x3bc;m in length.

Process for preparing sorptive substrates, and integrated processing system for substrates

An example method to clean a continuous substrate involves applying a high pressure, low flow spray of a first cleaning fluid at the continuous substrate from one or more nozzles to remove particulate matter from the continuous substrate; transporting the continuous substrate from a first volume having the high pressure, low volume spray, to a second volume having an agitation bath; vacuuming moisture from the continuous substrate during transporting of the continuous substrate from the first volume to the second volume; directing energy at the continuous substrate in the agitation bath using at least one of a megasonic transducer or an ultrasonic transducer; and drying the continuous substrate.

A process for treating a substrate comprised of sorptive material is provided herein. The sorptive material may be an absorbent synthetic material such as polyester. The material is designed to be used for cleaning surfaces in an ultraclean environment. The process first comprises unwinding a roll of sorptive material as a substrate into a cleaning system. The cleaning system utilizes several sections. These include a pre-washing section, an acoustic energy washing section, and a drying section. Preferably, the process of moving the substrate through the cleaning system is continuous. The acoustic energy washing section employs one or more acoustic energy generators. In one aspect, the process also includes cutting the substrate into sections to form wipers after moving the substrate through the drying section. Thereafter, the wipers are placed into a bag and the bag is sealed.

A reclining passenger seat, including a seat frame for being attached to a supporting deck, a seat bottom carried by the seat frame, and a seat back carried by the seat frame and moveable with the seat bottom from and between the upright and sleep positions. A legrest assembly is mounted adjacent a forward end of the seat bottom for being selectively extended generally downwardly and outwardly from the seat bottom for supporting the legs of the passenger. An armrest assembly is carried by the seat frame and includes an armrest moveable between a horizontal position with an upper support surface supporting a forearm of the seat occupant in the upright seat position and a forwardly-inclined, lowered position wherein the upper support surface is aligned with an upper surface of the seat bottom for providing a wider sleeping surface for the seat occupant when the seat is in the fully-reclined sleep position.
