A system and method for treating critical limb ischemia (CLI) including a radiopaque micro stent disposed for cross ankle stenting as well as retrograde pedal/tibial artery access, in conjunction with antegrade access for the recanalization of impaired tibial vessels. A radiopaque medical device is constructed from a tubular-shaped body having a thin wall defining a specific strut pattern. In an additional aspect, the present apparatus introduces a new radiopaque medical device, such as a stent, wherein the tubular body includes a super elastic, nickel-titanium (nitinol) alloy.

Method and apparatus for treating critical limb ischemia

A stent delivery system, which includes a catheter and a stent stabilizer and pusher mechanism to capture and deploy a braided stent. The stabilizer pusher mechanism has a reinforced polymer shaft with two ends, a hub, a marker band and a braided mesh sock. The stent stabilizer and pusher mechanism further possesses a reinforced polymer shaft, which is constructed to have a low friction lumen. The low friction lumen may be guide wire compatible.

Stent delivery system

A medical device such as a catheter may have an elongate shaft that includes a hypotube having a cut formed therein. The elongate shaft may define a lumen that extends within the elongate shaft. A polymer may be disposed over at least a portion of the hypotube. A medical device may include a cut hypotube having a constant pitch and may be configured to reversibly and temporarily alter the pitch of at least a portion of the cut hypotube. In some cases, the medical device may be configured to reversibly and/or temporarily alter a compressive strength of at least a portion of the cut hypotube.

Hypotube construction

A coil-reinforced medical device delivery mechanism including a stiff proximal end for enhanced pushability and a soft distal end, including a free floating tip portion, for increased maneuverability and decreased breakage. The system utilizes a non-compliant balloon mounted on a flexible, single lumen shaft device with a support mandrel construction.
