A packaged, pumped liquid, evaporative-condensing recirculating ammonia refrigeration system with charges of 10 lbs or less of refrigerant per ton of refrigeration capacity. The compressor and related components are situated inside the plenum of a standard evaporative condenser unit, and the evaporator is close coupled to the evaporative condenser. Single or dual phase cyclonic separators may also be housed in the plenum of the evaporative condenser.

A packaged, pumped liquid, recirculating refrigeration system with charges of 10 lbs or less of refrigerant per ton of refrigeration capacity. The compressor and related components are situated in a pre-packaged modular machine room, and in which the condenser is mounted on the machine room and the evaporator is close coupled to the pre-packaged modular machine room. Prior art large receiver vessels may be replaced with a single or dual phase cyclonic separator also housed in the pre-packaged modular machine room.

A high-frequency, low-amplitude corrugated fin for a heat exchanger assembly includes a plate member that extends horizontally and vertically to define a reference plane. The plate member has a plurality of conduit portions, a first and second series of corrugated segments formed in the plate member. The first and second series of corrugated segments undulate generally equidistantly relative to and from the reference plane as viewed in cross-section. The plurality of conduit portions is inter-dispersed throughout the plate member among the first and second series of corrugated segments. Each one of the first series of corrugated segments extends at a first angle relative to horizontal and each one of the second series of corrugated segments extend at a second angle relative to horizontal such that individual adjacent ones of the first and second series of corrugated segments form at least a generally chevron-shaped configuration as viewed in plan view.

High-frequency, low-amplitude corrugated fin for a heat exchanger coil assembly

A fin is disclosed for use in a heat exchanger coils including tube segments extending through the fin. The fin includes a corrugated sheet of material having a plurality of major corrugations, about 8 to about 24 corrugations per inch (2.54 cm), each major corrugation being a peak or a valley with an amplitude 'h' at the peaks or the valleys perpendicular to a reference major plane equally bisecting the major corrugations, and a width 'w'; a plurality of orifices; a collar perpendicular to the reference major plane and extending from the sheet around each of the orifices; and a generally flat area that is generally parallel to or generally coextensive with the reference major plane and that surrounds each collar. The major corrugations have angled walls extending from at least one of the peaks and valleys to the generally flat areas adapted to create a vortex when air travels over the fin. A ratio of &#x201c;h&#x201d; to &#x201c;w&#x201d; is about 0.32 to about 0.7.
