The present technology provides a non-cylindrical structure for transporting media, including gases, liquids, solids, or energy comprising a layer of thermal pyrolytic graphite (TPG) surrounded by an outer layer and an inner layer comprising a metal, a ceramic, a glass, or a plastic. In particular, the present technology relates to a non-cylindrical tube or a pipe having an inner layer, an outer layer, and a layer of TPG between the inner layer and the outer layer wherein the TPG layer is configured to manage the direction of heat conduction.

The invention in one aspect relates to an anti-chafing composition with improved efficacy, in one embodiment, comprising an effective amount of boron nitride suspended in a dermatologically acceptable carrier vehicle. Another embodiment relates to an anti-chafing composition in the form of a powder or a stick containing boron nitride. A boron nitride composition having its surface treated with a coating layer comprising a zirconate coupling agent. The boron nitride composition can be used as fillers in polymeric compounds at levels of up to 90 wt. %, giving thermal conductivity of up to 35 W/mK.
