Systems for mounting a helmet-mounted device to a helmet are disclosed. One such system comprises a frame configured to be movably coupled to the helmet, and an interconnect mechanism rotatably coupled to the frame. The interconnect mechanism is configured to receive the helmet-mounted device. The interconnect mechanism is rotatable relative to the frame between a use position for the helmet-mounted device and a stow position for the helmet-mounted device.

Systems for establishing electrical interconnections for helmet-mounted devices are disclosed. A system for establishing an electrical interconnection for a helmet-mounted device is comprises a first interconnect mechanism coupled to one of a helmet and the helmet-mounted device, and a second interconnect mechanism coupled to the other one of the helmet and the helmet-mounted device. The first interconnect mechanism comprises a first frame, a biasing member, a plurality of first electrical contacts, and a first projection. The second interconnect mechanism comprises a second frame, a plurality of second electrical contacts, and a second projection. As the first interconnect mechanism is moved toward the second interconnect mechanism, the contact between the first projection and the second projection causes rotation of the first frame in a direction opposite the predetermined rotational direction.

Systems for establishing electrical interconnections for helmet-mounted devices

A rotary encoder switch assembly includes a panel having a hole that is defined at least partially through the panel, a recess that is formed along a circumference of the hole, and a bearing surface that is defined either on or adjacent the hole of the panel; a rotary encoder switch, which defines a bearing surface, that is mounted to the hole of the panel such that the encoder switch is configured to translate with respect to the panel, and rotate with respect to the panel until the bearing surface of the rotary encoder switch bears on the bearing surface of the panel; and a spring-loaded plunger that engages with the recess of the panel to provide tactile feedback to a user of the rotary encoder switch assembly when the spring-loaded plunger engages with the recess of the panel.

A battery pack includes a battery compartment, a terminal plate positioned within the battery compartment for retaining at least two batteries within the battery compartment, and a cover for enclosing the battery compartment, wherein, upon enclosing the battery compartment with the cover, the cover is configured to urge an exterior surface of one of the at least two batteries against an exterior surface of another of the at least two batteries to establish both physical and thermal contact between the at least two batteries.

The present invention includes a knob assembly which provides rotational movement and translational travel along an axis of dual and independent rotary knobs. The present invention controls electronics within a housing, without requiring protrusion into the housing. Having no protrusions into the housing avoids exposure of the electronics within the housing to environmental contaminants or electromagnetic interference. The components of the dual independent push button rotary knob assembly may operate without need for O-rings, gaskets, or any other applied sealants to prevent containments from entering the housing. Assembly of the knob assembly is simplified, because the rotary knob assembly may be installed and replaced without any tools and without need to access the interior of the housing. Furthermore, if any part of the assembly is damaged, the rotary knob assembly, in part or whole, may be replaced without compromising any seal provided to the exterior surfaces of the housing.

A device mount for mounting a vision enhancement device to an article worn on a user's head includes a first adjustment member operable to move a mounted vision enhancement device in a cranial-caudal direction with respect to the user. A second adjustment member which extends from the first adjustment member is operable to move a mounted vision enhancement device along a medial-lateral adjustment axis with respect to the user. A third adjustment member includes an extension arm extending from the second adjustment member that rotates with respect to the medial-lateral adjustment axis of the second adjustment member. A helmet apparatus includes a device mount and power supply that are offset from an anterior-posterior axis of the helmet in a counterbalancing arrangement.

An electrical connector for a helmet-mounted night vision system, or other electronic device, is provided. The electrical connector includes a plug assembly and a receptacle assembly each including a body having a revolved surface and an electrical contact. A protrusion extends from the revolved surface of either the plug assembly or the receptacle assembly and a cam surface is defined along the revolved surface of the other of the plug assembly and the receptacle assembly. Upon engagement between the assemblies, the revolved surfaces of the assemblies are positioned to face each other and upon rotation of the assemblies with respect to one another the protrusion is positioned to move along the cam surface causing the electrical contact of the plug assembly to bear against the electrical contact of the receptacle assembly thereby establishing a connection between the plug assembly and the receptacle assembly.

A holder for a compact digital disk. The holder includes a base having a hub on which a disk may be frictionally retained. It also includes a lid pivotally mounted on the base and having an extractor for disengaging the disk from the hub as the lid is moved from the closed to the open position. The extractor additionally functions as a latch to retain the lid in the closed position. Also, a deflector is positioned on top of the hub to retain the disk after it has been disengaged from the hub.
