An example method includes positioning an expandable metal sealing element in a wellbore; wherein the expandable metal sealing element includes a reactive metal and a void extending axially through at least a portion of the expandable metal sealing element. The method further includes disposing a line in the void and contacting the expandable metal sealing element with a fluid that reacts with the reactive metal to produce a reaction product having a volume greater than the reactive metal, wherein the reaction product seals around the line while it is disposed in the void.

Described herein are gravel pack assemblies capable of performing complete gravel pack jobs when flow restricting devices, such as inflow control devices ('ICD'), are utilized. A gravel pack assembly includes a well screen attached to a flow restricting device and a relief valve. The relief valve is positioned in parallel with the flow restricting device so that the relief valve may provide an alternative path for fluid during dehydration of the gravel pack slurry, thus allowing extra fluid flow through the completion string during the gravel pack operation only.

A gravel packing apparatus has first and second joints each including a sand control screen assembly a slurry delivery subassembly positioned exteriorly of the sand control screen assembly. Each slurry delivery subassembly includes a transport tube extending longitudinally along the sand control screen assembly. A jumper tube extends between and is sealably coupled to the transport tube of the first joint and the transport tube of the second joint. A first locking assembly is operably coupled between the jumper tube and the transport tube of the first joint and a second locking assembly is operably coupled between the jumper tube and the transport tube of the second joint.

Another filter section can include one or more structures on an interior thereof which space apart inner and outer sides of a wall of the filter section, a telescoping tubular connector which provides fluid communication between the filter section and a base pipe of the well screen, and a filter media being positioned in the tubular connector.

A casing mandrel includes a body having a first end and a second end, the first end being configured to be coupled to an upper portion of a casing string and the second end being configured to be coupled to a lower portion of the casing string, a downhole tool operatively coupled to an outer surface of the body, a tool port defined in the body and extending between the downhole tool and an interior of the body and thereby placing the downhole tool in fluid communication with the interior of the body, and at least one degradable plug disposed within the tool port to prevent wellbore debris from obstructing fluid communication between the interior and the downhole tool, wherein the degradable plug degrades over time.

A gravel packing assembly has first and second joints each including a sand control screen assembly having a filter medium positioned exteriorly of a base pipe and a slurry delivery subassembly rotatably mounted exteriorly on the sand control screen assembly. The slurry delivery subassembly includes at least one transport tube extending longitudinally along at least a portion of the sand control screen assembly. At least one jumper tube is coupled to and extends between the at least one transport tube of the first joint and the at least one transport tube of the second joint. The at least one transport tube of the first joint is axially aligned with the at least one transport tube of the second joint by rotating the slurry delivery subassembly of the first joint relative to the sand control screen of the first joint after the two joints are coupled together.

One autonomous inflow control device (AICD) assembly includes a base pipe defining one or more flow ports and an interior, at least one AICD arranged on the base pipe and having at least one fluid inlet and an outlet in fluid communication with one of the one or more flow ports, and a fluid barrier configured to be arranged about the at least one AICD by a well operator on-site and configured to isolate the at least one AICD from an influx of fluid during operation.

One autonomous inflow control device (AICD) assembly includes a housing arranged about a base pipe that defines at least one flow port and an interior, the housing defining a fluid compartment in fluid communication with the at least one flow port, an AICD arranged in the fluid compartment and having at least one fluid inlet and an outlet in fluid communication with the at least one flow port, a shroud coupled to the housing and covering the fluid compartment, and a crimping tool arrangeable about the housing and the shroud and having a profile defined thereon, the profile being configured to engage and plastically deform the shroud in order to fluidly isolate the AICD.

A flow restrictor system for use with a subterranean well can include at least two flow paths configured for parallel flow, a flow restrictor which resists flow through one flow path, and a pressure barrier which prevents flow through another flow path. The pressure barrier is selectively openable to permit flow through the second flow path.
