A dwelling power management system includes a smart power integrated node located at a dwelling and configured to transit information to and receive information from a remote server arrangement. The smart power integrated node selectively controls power applied to dwelling electrical power hardware components according to a recommended operating procedure (ROP). The system also includes a utility switch connected to the smart power integrated node, the utility switch configured to control distribution of electrical power received from a dwelling external power source. The smart power integrated node transmits dwelling power usage information and dwelling user preferences to the remote server arrangement that evaluates relevant information including dwelling power usage information and dwelling user preferences and dwelling external factors to develop an optimized ROP. The smart power integrated node operates according to the optimized ROP.

Multifunction power management system

A multiple stage switching type converter circuit provided between an AC source and a DC source is provided. The circuit includes a boost converter stage coupled to the AC source, a DC link capacitor stage comprising a DC link capacitor decoupled from an AC source and a DC source, and an isolated DC-DC converter stage coupled to the DC source. The multiple stage switching type converter circuit comprises a plurality of switches, each switch configured to operate at a baseline duty cycle, a baseline voltage, a baseline resistance, with a baseline current and providing a baseline switching time. At least one switch is altered to perform at a duty cycle differing from the baseline duty cycle, a voltage differing from the baseline voltage, a resistance differing from baseline resistance, with a current differing from the baseline current or using a switching time differing from the baseline switching time.

A power management apparatus is provided. The apparatus is configured to connect a plurality of DC power elements to a plurality of AC power elements and includes a DC interface module connected to the plurality of DC power elements, a bi-directional AC-DC converter connected to the DC interface module, and an AC interface module connected to the bi-directional AC-DC converter and the AC power elements.

In one example, a method of bonding components for fabricating an electronic assembly comprises the steps of disposing a first layer of a first high temperature metal-containing paste adjacent to a first component. A second layer of a second high temperature metal-containing paste is disposed adjacent to a second component. A nanostructured multilayer reactive foil is disposed between the first and second layers. The nanostructured multilayer reactive foil is activated to sinter the first and second layers and bond the first and second components.

Methods of bonding components for fabricating electronic assemblies and electronic assemblies including bonded components

Systems and methods are provided for monitoring current in an electric motor. An electrical system includes a (DC) interface, an electric motor, an inverter module coupled between the DC interface and the electric motor, a first current sensor between a first phase leg of the inverter module and a first phase of the electric motor to measure a first current flowing through the first phase of the electric motor, a second current sensor between the first phase leg and the DC interface to measure a second current flowing through the first phase leg, and a control module coupled to the first current sensor and the second current sensor. The control module is configured to initiate remedial action based at least in part on a difference between the first current measured by the first current sensor and the second current measured by the second current sensor.

A controller is coupled to the first inverter and the second inverter, and is configured to provide a constant power from the fuel cell during operation of the electric motor.

Double-ended inverter drive system for a fuel cell vehicle and related operating method

A double ended inverter system for an AC electric traction motor of a vehicle is disclosed. The inverter system serves as an interface between two different energy sources having different operating characteristics. The inverter system includes a first energy source having first operating characteristics associated therewith, and a first inverter subsystem coupled to the first energy source and configured to drive the AC electric traction motor. The inverter system also includes a second energy source having second operating characteristics associated therewith, wherein the first operating characteristics and the second operating characteristics are different, and a second inverter subsystem coupled to the second energy source and configured to drive the AC electric traction motor. In addition, the inverter system has a controller coupled to the first inverter subsystem and to the second inverter subsystem. A first energy source is coupled to the first inverter, wherein the first inverter is configured to provide power flow between the first energy source and the electric motor.
