A computing device determines a contrast medium uptake time using magnetic resonance imaging data. Image data constructed from data generated by a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine of a subject is read. A representation computed from the read image data is presented on a display device. Baseline artery locations identified within the presented representation that are associated with a baseline artery are received. A first time-of-arrival (TOA) of contrast medium into the baseline artery is determined using the received baseline artery locations and the read image data. For a plurality of locations within the read image data excluding the baseline artery locations, a second TOA of the contrast medium into a respective location relative to the determined first TOA is determined using the read image data, and the determined second TOA is stored in association with the respective location to assist in lesion identification for the subject.

Contrast medium uptake time computation using magnetic resonance imaging

The present disclosure provides for effective systems and methods for increasing target tissue conspicuity within a particular anatomy of a particular patient. In an exemplary embodiment, a system associated with the present disclosure includes: (a) a MRI-guided HIFU system for generating ablation markings on a target tissue region, the MRI-guided HIFU system including a transducer for delivering HIFU to the target tissue region, the delivered HIFU generating the ablation markings on the target tissue and an MRI imaging system adapted to generate a three dimensional image of the target tissue region during HIFU delivery for guiding the delivery of the HIFU to the target tissue region; (b) a radiotherapy delivery system for delivering radiotherapy treatment to the target tissue region; and (c) a CT imaging system operable within the radiotherapy delivery system for generating a three dimensional image of the target tissue region. The markings generated on the target tissue region by the MRI-guided HIFU are visible in the image generated by the CT imaging system. The image generated by the CT imaging system guides the location of the radiotherapy treatment delivered to the target tissue region.

MRI-guided HIFU marking to guide radiotherapy and other procedures

An apparatus and method are provided for generating a magnetic resonance image of a biotic structure. The method includes the steps of generating a plurality of datasets by modulating a free induction decay of at least some MR detectable nuclei in the biotic structure with a sinusoidally oscillating magnetic field gradient and using the spectroscopic and spatial information present in the acquired signal to approximate a set of instantaneously acquired gradient echoes. The method further includes the step of synthesizing images based upon the approximated acquired gradient echoes.
