A passenger vehicle has a framework reconstructed from a vehicle chassis that is original manufacturing equipment. The vehicle includes an internal support structure comprising a central support section between a forward support section and a rearward support section. The central support section is closer to ground that the forward and rearward support sections. A front wheel assembly near the front of the vehicle extends across and is supported by the forward support section, and a rear wheel assembly near the rear of the vehicle extends across and is supported by the rearward support section. A passenger compartment framework is elevated above the central support structure, and a baggage compartment framework is beneath the passenger compartment framework. The baggage compartment framework includes a baggage opening in each opposed side of the vehicle, thereby providing access to an unobstructed storage zone that enables baggage to be placed in the storage zone from one side of the vehicle through one baggage opening and removed from the storage zone from the other side of the vehicle through the other baggage opening.

A wheel board vehicle includes a frame having thereon a centrally mounted planar board on which a rider stands while riding the vehicle. At a front end of the frame a single support arm extends that has an outer end to which a front yoke is pivotably attached. The front yoke carries a front wheel. At a rear end, stationary support arms carry a rear wheel. A manually operated brake member is attached to the frame near the rear wheel adjacent a leg of the rider while the rider is riding the vehicle, and a stationary handle is attached to the frame and oriented generally vertically while the rider rides the vehicle.

A door structure for a vehicle has a door seated in a door jam frame at the rear end of the vehicle. The door jam fame has a first upright with an opening therein disposed nearby one side of the vehicle to provide a space between this side and the first upright. A second upright is nearby the other side of the vehicle. A hinge member is attached to the door which includes a first connecting member attached to the door member near the one side of the vehicle, a second connecting member pivotally attached to the first upright and disposed in the space between the one side of the vehicle and the first upright, and an intermediate arcuate member connected between the first and second connecting members which extends through the opening in the first upright.

A vehicle (10a) includes an elongated opening (35) defined by a frame (33) in a side (30) of the vehicle. The opening (35) receives therein a window pane (34) and a seal (40) is positioned in the space between the frame (33) and the window pane (34). The elongated opening (35) has opposed ends with side panels (38) adjacent the ends of the opening (35) and positioned so that an end portion of each panel overlies the opening. Disposed between an interior surface of opposed end portions of the window pane (34) and the end portion of the panel overlying the opening (35) is an essentially opaque material. A limousine type vehicle includes a standard electrical system, a coach section with an auxiliary electrical system, and an electric power generation system which has first and second batteries isolated from each other during normal operation of the vehicle's engine. The first battery is electrically connected to the engine to supply electric power for the operation of the engine and the standard electrical system, and the second battery is electrically connected to the auxiliary electrical system to supply electric power for the operation of said auxiliary electrical system. A first alternator is electrically connected to the first battery to recharge said first battery during operation of the engine, and a second alternator is electrically connected to the second battery to recharge said second battery during operation of the engine. These alternators are electrically isolated from each other during normal operation of the engine, and they are mechanically coupled together and to the engine, so that the operation of the engine drives both the first and second alternators simultaneously.

A personal vehicle loading and unloading apparatus includes a support structure mounted to a platform such as a truck bed which supports the personal vehicle, and a moveable ramp mounted telescopically within the support structure. The ramp is manually moveable between a retracted position where substantially the entire ramp is within the truck bed and an extended position where substantially the entire ramp extends from the truck bed. The ramp and the support structure each have an upper surface over which the bottom surface of the personal vehicle, or a conveyor for the vehicle, rides as the personal vehicle is moved to and from the truck bed. These upper surfaces each comprise an anti-friction material having a kinetic friction coefficient no greater than 0.5. A winch mechanism mounted to the support structure pulls the personal vehicle into the truck bed during loading and lowers slowly the personal vehicle from the truck bed during unloading.

Vehicle loading and unloading apparatus and method

A respiration monitor includes a sensing element having a pressure chamber filled with gas. The sensing element is adapted to be placed in contact with a breathing subject, with the pressure in the chamber increasing as the subject inhales and decreasing as the subject exhales. A pressure switch in communication with the pressure chamber opens as the subject exhales and closes as the subject inhales to control the operation of a timing circuit. The timing circuit includes an audio alarm mechanism activated when the switch is not closed within a predetermined threshold period. The chamber has at least one gas port which places the chamber in communication with ambient air pressure, so that within a pressure equalization time interval the pressure within the chamber equalizes to that of ambient air pressure and the switch is opened. This port is sized so that the pressure equalization time interval is longer than the normal cycle of inhalation and exhalation of the subject but shorter than the predetermined threshold period. The size, or number openings, comprising the port is sufficiently restrictive so that changes in pressure within the gas chamber are detected, causing the switch to operate to open or close as required.
