Methods and apparatus are described for methods and apparatus for carrying out wireless communication using Long Term Evolution (LTE) in a frequency band with low peak-to-average-power. The approach includes precoding, in the frequency domain, a plurality of physical channel signals, followed by multiplexing, where the procoding is performed according to predetermined codes with a code length selected based on a length of an entire signal of the multiplexed precoded plurality of physical channel signals. In addition, the approach includes being configured to map the multiplexed precoded plurality of physical channel signals to subcarriers in the frequency band, as well to generate a time domain waveform based on the mapped signals.

System and method for DL transmission with low peak-to-average-power (PAPR)

This disclosure proposes a mobile communication system to use multiple power control loops in the uplink. Each power control loop may be associated with a respective antenna beam transmitted from an antenna array of the electronic device (e.g. UE) in the uplink of the communication system. Each power control loop may also be associated with a respective set of one or more MIMO layers. This concept is applicable to open-loop, closed-loop power control or both.

An approach is described that includes receiving a CSI report, where the CSI report includes a channel quality indicator (CQI), a rank indicator (RI), and a precoding matrix indicator (PMI). The approach further includes constructing a precoding matrix based on a linear combination of a plurality of mutually orthogonal digital Fourier transformation (DFT) spatial beams, and determining a number of bits for the PMI of the precoding matrix. The approach also includes determining a space frequency matrix based, at least in part, on the number of bits for the PMI and the precoding matrix, and compressing the space frequency matrix. Finally, the approach includes determining a compressed PMI based, at least in part, on the space frequency matrix.

In embodiments, an apparatus may receive and process a first set of one or more independent data streams received in a downlink channel from a first transmission point. The apparatus may receive and process a second set of one or more independent data streams received in a downlink channel from a second transmission point. The apparatus may process control information received from the first transmission point or the second transmission point. The control information may include an indication of a quasi co-location assumption to be used for estimating channel characteristics for reception of the first set of one or more independent data streams or the second set of one or more independent data streams.
