A liner hanger is used for deploying a liner into a wellbore. The liner hanger includes a tubular body having a first end and a second end. The first end can include a connection to a liner. The second end can include a sealed connection to an operational pipe. The sealed connection can be releasable. An expansion tool attached to a work string can be used for suspending the liner hanger into the wellbore. At least a portion of the expandable pipe is radially expanded using the expansion tool. The radial expansion of the expandable pipe can cause compression of at least one seal member against a base casing.

Liner hanger for use with an expansion tool having an adjustable cone

Methods and apparatus for radially expanding and plastically deforming an expandable tubular include a resilient launcher. The resilient launcher includes a launcher portion and a sleeve portion. An inner diameter of the sleeve portion is smaller than an inner diameter of the launcher portion. An expansion cone is disposed in the launcher portion of the resilient launcher. The expandable tubular is disposed around the sleeve portion and above the launcher portion of the resilient launcher. The launcher portion comprises a port that is sealable below the expansion cone.

Expansion system for expandable tubulars

A system comprising a first expandable tubular section and a first expansion bridge coupled to an inner surface of the first expandable tubular section. A base pipe is coupled to the first expandable tubular section and to a second expandable tubular section. A second expansion bridge is coupled to an inner surface of the second expandable tubular section. The system also comprises an expansion cone disposed within and translatable relative to the first expandable section. The expansion cone has an expansion diameter greater than an inner diameter of the first and second expansion bridges and less than an inner diameter of the base pipe.

High-ratio tubular expansion

Methods and apparatus for radially expanding and plastically deforming an expandable tubular member using a lower expansion cone and an upper expandable cone. The apparatus includes an expandable tubular, a support member releasably secured to the expandable tubular, and an extendable section below where the support member is releasably anchored. An upper expandable cone is attached to the extendable section and in a retracted state and an anchor is disposed below the upper expandable cone. The anchor is releasable from below the upper expandable cone. A lower expansion cone is disposed below the anchor. An expansion sleeve is disposed in the lower end of the expandable tubular. The lower expansion cone is configured to expand the expansion sleeve radially outward to an outer diameter greater than the inside diameter of the expandable tubular when axially displaced downward by the extendable section.

Expansion system for expandable tubulars and method of expanding thereof

A method of drilling and lining a wellbore includes operably coupling a support member to a drilling device, an expansion cone configured to expand a tubular member, an actuator configured to pull the expansion cone through the tubular member, a releasable locking device configured to limit displacement of the tubular member relative to the actuator during actuation. The drilling device is disposed below the expansion cone and the expansion cone is disposed at a lower end of the tubular member. The method further includes locking the locking device. After locking the locking device, a wellbore is drilled to have a diameter greater than an outside diameter of the tubular member. After the drilling, the actuator is actuated to pull the expansion cone towards the locking device to expand at least a portion of the tubular member into contact with the drilled wellbore. The method further includes releasing the locking device and removing the drilling device through the expanded tubular member.

Apparatus and methods for drilling and lining a wellbore

A system for radially expanding an expandable tubular within a wellbore to form a wellbore casing. In some embodiments, the system includes a support member insertable within and displaceable relative to the expandable tubular, an expansion cone coupled to the support member, a tubular sleeve translatably disposed about the support member, an annular chamber between the tubular sleeve and the expandable tubular, and a tubular piston disposed in the annular chamber, the tubular piston dividing the annular chamber into a first chamber and a second chamber. The support member has a tubular body with an axial flowbore, a first radial passage, and a second radial passage. The tubular sleeve has a third and a fourth radial passage. The flowbore is in fluid communication with the first chamber when the first and third radial passages are aligned, and with the second chamber when the second and fourth radial passages are aligned.

Liner hanger

A method for expanding a tubular member in a wellbore includes applying a downward force to an expansion cone through a work string to anchor the tubular member in the wellbore and pulling upwards on the expansion cone with the work string to expand the tubular member. The expansion cone is disposed in a launcher portion connected to the tubular member being expanded.

Methods and apparatus for anchoring and expanding tubular members

An apparatus and method for forming or repairing a wellbore casing, a pipeline, or a structural support. An expandable tubular member is radially expanded and plastically deformed by an expansion cone that is displaced by hydraulic pressure. Before or after the radial expansion of the expandable tubular member, a sliding sleeve valve within the apparatus permit a hardenable fluidic sealing material to be injected into an annulus between the expandable tubular member and a preexisting structure.
