The invention provides a process for separating a solution from magnetic resin portions, particles and/or fines by passing a solution containing the resin portions, particles and/or fines through a bed of particulate magnetic material.

Water polishing process

The invention provides a system and process for separating residual magnetic resin from a liquid stream by passing the stream through or over permanent magnets located within the stream wherein the process also includes a means for releasing any resin retained by the permanent magnets and capturing the released resin.

Magnetic resin separator

The invention provides a method for contacting liquid with an ion exchange resin comprising introducing liquid into a process tank containing ion exchange resin at an inlet () and removing liquid that has been contacted with resin from the process tank at an outlet, the outlet being located above the inlet (), the process tank including a resin containment region () disposed between the inlet () and the outlet to impede the upward flow of the resin as it becomes entrained in the liquid flowing from the inlet to the outlet, and a contactor region for promoting contact between the resin and the liquid located below the containment region (), said containment region () containing an array of settling members through which the liquid and resin upflow and which impede the flow of the resin to a sufficient extent that it is substantially contained within or below the containment region (). Method for contacting liquid with ion exchange resin

A process for the regeneration of loaded ion-exchange resin comprising (a) providing loaded resin for regeneration; (b) providing first stage and third stage regenerant suitable for regenerating loaded resin; (c) providing a plurality of regeneration vessels; (d) filling a regeneration vessel with a desired amount of the loaded resin before filling another regeneration vessel; (e) once a regeneration vessel has been filled, contacting the loaded resin within the vessel with first stage regenerant in a plug flow to provide a first stage regenerated resin; (f) contacting the first stage regenerated resin with third stage regenerant in a plug flow to provide regenerated resin and (g) removing and collecting third stage regenerant from a vessel containing regenerated resin and adding the collected regenerant to the first stage regenerant.

Plug-flow regeneration process

A process for removing DOC (dissolved organic carbon) from a concentrated salt solution containing DOC by contacting the salt solution with a coagulant/flocculant such that the DOC becomes insoluble and removing the insoluble DOC from the salt solution.

Process for treating concentrated salt solutions containing DOC

A process for cooling rubber crumb wherein the rubber crumb is presented for cooling to a first stage pneumatic conveyor containing a hot wet first stage air stream. The rubber crumb is cooled in the first stage pneumatic conveyor to a first temperature, whereupon the cooled rubber crumb is separated from the first stage air stream and transferred to a second stage air stream of cool dry air. A second stage pneumatic conveyor transports the rubber crumb in the second stage air stream for additional cooling.

Two-stage pneumatic conveying process for rubber cooling

An interstage separator for transferring polymeric crumb from a first stage pneumatic conveyor with hot wet air, to a second stage pneumatic conveyor with cool dry air. The interstate separator is characterized by a tangential inlet for the crumb, and an enclosed separating chamber within which the crumb is separated from the first stage air stream. A transition member associated with the separator directs the crumb into a second stage air stream and, then, to a second stage pneumatic conveyor. The interstage separator transfers the rubber crumb from the first stage air stream to the second stage air stream without fouling of the associated equipment.
