A rearview device comprises a rearview assembly having a display surface and a housing configured to support the display surface; and a mount configured to connect to and support the housing. The mount may be slidably securable in a first direction to a mounting bracket and slidably detachable in a second direction from the mounting bracket. The mount may comprise at least one projecting ramp, the at least one projecting ramp configured to, upon the mount being slidably detached from the mounting bracket, change the orientation of the housing relative to the bracket to prevent the housing from impacting the mounting bracket.

A vehicle display assembly may comprise a transparent element defining a viewing surface, a display element disposed behind the transparent element, and a printed circuit board in electrical communication with the display element. The display element is configured to generate an image visible through the transparent element. The vehicle display assembly may be in communication with at least one of a vehicle sensor and a vehicle computer. The images appearing in the display element may change orientation based on the presence or absence of a vehicle occupant.

Automatic vehicle exterior light control system assemblies

A mirror assembly for a vehicle includes a housing defining a cavity and a front opening, and an electrochromic mirror subassembly supported in the front opening. A support plate is supported by the housing in the cavity, and a printed circuit board is supported behind the support plate. The support plate includes a front surface located proximate but spaced rearward of a rear surface of the mirror subassembly to form a thin gap of about 0.3 mm to 1.0 mm, and preferably of about 0.5 mm, therebetween. The support plate covers at least about 50%, and preferably about 80%, of glass elements in the mirror subassembly. The support plate includes forwardly-oriented biasing fingers shaped to press on a back perimeter of the mirror subassembly to maintain the gap without distorting the mirror subassembly. The support plate permits flexure of the mirror subassembly into the thin gap, but prevents excessive deformation of the mirror subassembly, thus reducing a tendency of the mirror subassembly to fracture. The support plate also includes rearwardly-oriented biasing fingers shaped to maintain compression on the printed circuit board to prevent rattling and looseness. The printed circuit board includes a control circuit operably connected to the electrochromic mirror subassembly and electrical components mounted on the circuit board, with the electrical components being visibly positioned in the front.

A container holder adapted to be mounted within a vehicle interior compartment is provided comprising a housing which mounts at least one pivotable arm which defines a container-receiving area. The arm is pivotable by a user between a retracted and an extended position to vary the usable size of the container-receiving area. After a beverage container is placed within the housing, a user can pivot the arm into contact with an outer surface of the beverage container so that the beverage container is securely retained during operation of the vehicle. The beverage container is thereby retained in the housing in a stable manner. A release assembly is also provided which returns the arm to the retracted position when the beverage container is removed.

Container holder

The invention is directed to a cupholder comprising a drawer slidably mounted within a housing for movement between a stored position and a use position. The drawer has a semicircular recess in combination with an arm to form a cup retaining area. The arm is biased away from the drawer. In the stored position, the drawer is retained within the housing and the arm abuts the interior of the housing. In the use position, the arm is biased away from the drawer to its outermost position to form the largest size cup retaining area. The arm can be pivoted inward toward the drawer and locked in discrete positions by a ratchet to form cup retaining areas of decreasing size to accommodate different size containers. Once the arm is pivoted beyond the smallest size cup retaining area, the arm is automatically biased outwardly to its outermost position.
