A material conveying system capable of traversing a floor along a curvilinear path, the system comprising a plurality of framework members arranged in tandem on the surface along a portion of the path to form an elongated longitudinally extending conveyor train; and connector means on each framework member cooperate with connector means on each adjacent framework member for coupling the plurality of framework members, the connector means permitting movement between adjacent framework members. The conveying system also includes a plurality of the framework members including a crawler chain assembly comprising a plurality of crawler chain pads interconnected by chain links to form an endless loop. The crawler chain assembly extends over a lower portion of each of the plurality of framework members wherein the crawler chain pads are maintained in engagement with the floor, and over an upper portion having an upper surface that supports the chain pads. The adjacent framework members include cooperating means for limiting the articulation between adjacent framework members in the horizontal, vertical and longitudinal directions, such cooperating means comprising outboard side tubes having a trapping on one end, the trapping being received in the hollow other end of the side tube of the next adjacent frame member. The framework members also include means for supporting an orbitally moveable endless conveyor belt above the crawler chain assembly, the conveying run of the orbitally moveable conveyor belt operable to convey material substantially throughout the longitudinal extent of the train.

Self-propelled articulated conveyor system

A chain and flight conveyor adapted to be driven by a toothed sprocket comprising a pair of spaced apart, parallel driving chains, each of the driving chains comprising roller links having at least one end surface which may be drivingly engaged by the teeth of the sprocket. The roller links also have internal apertures defining drive surfaces which may be drivingly engaged by the teeth of the sprocket. The driving chains further include connecting links coupled to and interconnecting the roller links; and pins pivotally connecting the connecting links to the roller links. A predetermined corresponding number of the pins on each of the chains comprises extended flight attachment pins having pin extensions facing the opposite chain. A plurality of conveying flights are connected between the corresponding number of the pin extensions, the flights comprising a bar member having two opposite ends, four sides and a bottom surface. The bar member bottom surface has at least one indentation provided on the bar member ends, each of the indentations being adapted to receive its respective pin extensions. The flight further includes a bolt extending through the flight sides forming the indentation, the bolt being secured to the flight so that the pin extensions are held in the indentations.

Chain and flight conveyor

A suspension system for an operator's compartment of a mine vehicle is set forth. The mine vehicle is of a type that has a body and operator's compartment positioned adjacent to the body. A guide is attached to the body of the vehicle and a rail is attached to the operator's compartment. This guide and rail arrangement slidably connects the operator's compartment to the body. The guide and rail are arranged to permit the operator's compartment to independently move upward and down in relation to the body. The rail is located in a central portion of the operator's compartment to minimize the angular displacement of the rail with respect to the guide upon rotation of the operator's compartment. This ensures free upward and downward motion of the operator's compartment with respect to the body of the vehicle.
