Described herein are systems, modes, and methods for mounting one or more electronic housings to each other and to a rack mount system, a table mount system, or wall mount system. The mounting system includes a first pair of matching sliding panels that interface with each other in a slidingly engaging manner. Each of the first pair of sliding panels can be mounted to housings prior to being engaged with each other; the engagement of the first pair of sliding panels removably fixes the two housings together; additional housings can be fixed to the first two in a substantially similar manner. The first pair of sliding panels includes a U-shaped sliding panel and a C-shaped sliding panel, and according to a second embodiment, a second pair of sliding panels includes a C-shaped sliding panel and a Pi-shaped sliding panel. The second pair of sliding panels operates in a substantially similar manner as the first pair of sliding panels.

System for joining electronic equipment housings together in a rack apparatus

An integrated latching mechanism includes a slider button. At least one curved elastic arm extends from the slider button and is configured such that in response to an external force urging the slider button in a first direction, the curved elastic arm is distorted such that upon removal of the external force, the curved elastic arm moves the slider button in a direction opposite to the first direction. A locking part is contiguous with the slider button and extends away from the slider button. In response to the external force urging the slider button in the first direction, the locking part moves in the first direction, and upon removal of the external force, the curved elastic arm moves the locking part in the direction opposite to the first direction. The at least one curved elastic arm, the slider button, and the locking part form a single piece of elastic material.

An integrated latching mechanism includes a slider button extending along a first direction, curved elastic arms that extend from the slider button in a second direction and then curve back in an direction opposite thereto, a locking part contiguous with the slider button and extending away from the slider button and the elastic arms in a third direction perpendicular to the first direction. In response to ends of the elastic arms being held at fixed positions and an external force urging the slider button in a direction opposite to the third direction, the locking part moves in the same direction, and the urging of the slider button distorts the elastic arms such that upon removal of the external force, the elastic arms move the slider button and the locking part in the third direction. The elastic arms, slider button, and locking part form a single piece of elastic material.

Coupling system for joining electronic equipment housings together in a rack system

A tabletop enclosure having a fully automatic self-actuated drop-down recessing flip-top cover. After the lid has automatically, spring open it begins to autonomously recess by sliding downwardly in a smooth controlled manner into the flip-top enclosure until it is substantially recessed. According to an embodiment, the enclosure includes modular rail guides designed to receive an interchangeable combination of single, dual, or triple, sized modules, each module having easy to use alignment module rails to ease module installation. Interchangeable modules are inserted from the top of the housing frame so that the tabletop enclosure can be configured for various connectivity scenarios.

An electromagnetic shield comprises a single sheet of metal having outer and inner peripheries. The outer periphery forms a plurality of outer deflectable fingers extending outward from a bent edge of the outer periphery for contacting a surface of a faceplate. The plurality of outer deflectable fingers is deflectable to allow for installation and removal of the faceplate. The inner periphery has an opening for receiving an HDMI connector and forming a plurality of inner deflectable fingers extending inwardly from a bent edge of the inner periphery. The plurality of inner deflectable fingers is deflectable to allow for insertion and removal of the HDMI connector.

An electromagnetic gasket comprises a substantially rectangular sheet having a plurality of resilient fingers on an outer peripheral. The fingers are bent outward and at least four resilient prongs are bent inward to form a passageway that is sized and dimensioned to receive an HDMI connector. When the HDMI connector is inserted through the passageway, the resilient prongs are adapted to urge against top, bottom, and two side surfaces of the shell of the HDMI connector in such a manner to prevent the gasket from disengaging from the HDMI connector. The plurality of resilient fingers extend outward and beyond the top, bottom, and two side surfaces of the shell of the HDMI connector and are adapted to urge against a surface of a faceplate. The plurality of fingers and prongs of the gasket provide a direct grounding path between surfaces of the shell of the HDMI connector and surface of the faceplate.

An electromagnetic shield comprises a sheet of metal having slots along an edge of the sheet to form a plurality of resilient fingers. The single sheet is bent around first and second bends axes inwardly and approximately ninety degrees to form a top planar surface and first and second side walls. The single sheet of metal is sized and dimensioned to receive a connector in between the first and second side walls and top planar surface. The fingers are bent outward with a bend radius of approximately 0.020 inches with respect to a flat surface of the sidewalls and top planar surface. The fingers apply a biasing force against a surface of a faceplate. Each of the side walls includes an elongated leg, which is interconnected with a circuit board and each of the elongated legs extends beyond a bottom edge of each of the side walls.

An electromagnetic gasket comprises a sheet having a plurality of resilient fingers on an outer peripheral. The fingers are bent outward and at least four resilient prongs are bent inward to form a passageway that is sized and dimensioned to receive an RJ45 connector. When the RJ45 connector is inserted through the passageway, the resilient prongs are adapted to urge against top, bottom, and two side surfaces of the shell of the RJ45 connector in such a manner to prevent the gasket from disengaging from the RJ45 connector. The plurality of resilient fingers extend outward and beyond the top, bottom, and two side surfaces of the shell of the RJ45 connector and are adapted to urge against a surface of a faceplate.

A card panel includes a conductive bracket and a circuit board coupled to the bracket. The bracket includes a front side, and first and second lateral sides. The board is coupled to an inner surface of the first side of the bracket, while an outer surface of the first side operates as a conductive contact. The outer surface of the second side of the bracket includes an integrally molded T-shaped track, and a hole at each end of the track. An elongate conductive spring having a generally triangular cross-section with two inwardly directed lower flanges and a raised portion is positioned on the track such that each of the lower flanges is held by track and further such that the ends of the spring are positioned between the holes in the track. Rivets are provided in the holes and maintaining the spring on the track. The integrally molded track permits easy installation of the spring to the bracket. The integration of the components provides an assembly having relatively few components and a relatively low cost. Moreover, the molded track is relatively straight, stiff, and more resistant to damage than prior art spring assemblies. As such, the spring has a more uniform compression and is held flat and straight against the bracket. Electromagnetic interference is thereby reduced. Furthermore, should the spring become damaged, the rivets securing the spring may be easily removed to facilitate replacement of the spring.
