A sound and heat insulating blanket is presented comprising: a) a first layer of fabric comprising first fibers; and b) a first sound barrier film comprising a first rubber; wherein the first layer of fabric and first sound barrier film are bound together through a first interpenetrated binding layer wherein the first rubber of the first sound barrier film is interpenetrated by the first fibers of the first layer of fabric; and optionally c) a second layer of fabric comprising second fibers; wherein the second layer of fabric and first sound barrier film are bound together through a second interpenetrated binding layer wherein the first cured composition of the first sound barrier film is interpenetrated by the second fibers of the second layer of fabric. Typically, the sound and heat insulating blanket comprises no adhesive binding the first and second layers of fabric and the sound barrier film.

Sound and heat insulating blanket

A curable composition is provided comprising a curable rubber comprising: a) 80.0-99.9 wt % of a chloroprene resin; b) 0.06-13 wt % of trimethyl thiourea; and c) 0.06-13 wt % of a benzothiazolesulfenamide, such as N-cyclohexyl-2-benzothiazoles-ulfenamide. The present disclosure additionally provides cured compositions comprising a rubber comprising a crosslinked chloroprene resin and a fire retardant particle system comprising: d) 5-95 wt % particulate magnesium hydroxide (Mg(OH)); and e) 5-95 wt % particulate aluminum trihydrate (Al(OH)). In some embodiments the particulate aluminum trihydrate (Al(OH)) has a mean particle size of greater than 30 microns and less than 400 microns, and more typically a mean particle size of greater than 82 microns. The present disclosure additionally provides sound barrier films comprising the cured compositions according to the present disclosure, in particular fire resistant sound barrier films.

Curable composition for sound barrier film

An earmuff cushion and other foam hearing protective components such as earplugs and pods for semi-aural hearing protectors and earplugs providing improved attenuation are described. The cushion and other foam hearing protective components are comprised of a dynamically stiff foam material having a low static stiffness, and a high dynamic stiffness, which produces improved attenuation in the earmuff and other hearing protective devices in which it is used. Earmuffs made from the cushion, semi-aural hearing protectors, earplugs, and improved methods of making the hearing protective devices are also described.

Acoustical hearing protective devices utilizing dynamically stiff foam

An earmuff cushion providing improved attenuation is described. The cushion is a foam material having a low static stiffness, and a high dynamic stiffness, which produces improved attenuation in the earmuff in which it is used. Earmuffs made from the cushion and improved methods of making the cushion and the earmuffs are also described.

Acoustical earmuff

A facade (10) for simulating the appearance of another object which is attached to a child's play vehicle (12). It includes a first substantially planar member (14) which has a front surface (18) and is attached to a forward portion of the play vehicle (12). The first member (14) is shaped to have a perimeter which substantially defines an anterior profile of the object. A second substantially planar member (16) is folded into a three-dimensional shape and attached to the first member (14). The second member (16) projects fowardly from the front surface (18) of the first member (14) and is shaped to define a forward profile of the object. It may also include a rear portion (160) which has first and second substantially planar side panels (162, 164) which are connected along upper edges (168, 170) and attached to the play vehicle (12) in a position to partially cover a rear wheel (172) of the vehicle (12). The first and second side panels (162, 164) have a perimeter which substantially defines a side profile of a rear portion of the object.
