Telescoping crane and related methods

A portable gantry crane formed of composite members includes a composite material I-beam. Two or more support members are formed of a composite material and each support member supports the I-beam when the portable gantry crane is in an upright position. Two or more end housings are included, each end housing enclosing a top end of one of the two or more support members and coupled thereto using adhesive. A plurality of latch structures are coupled with the I-beam, each latch structure including a latch, and each end housing having a latch receiver, each latch in combination with a latch receiver allowing one of the latch structures to be releasably fixedly coupled with an end housing. In implementations a plurality of latch structures are coupled with the I-beam, each latch structure having a latch structure enclosure and each latch structure enclosure at least partially enclosing one of the end housings.

A beam trolley having a width adjustment system includes a first side plate having two or more wheels configured to couple with a beam (which may have an I-beam, wide flange (W-type) I-beam, or standard (S-type) I-beam configuration). A second side plate having two or more wheels coupled thereon is configured to couple with the beam. A main load bar couples with the first and second side plates and includes a threaded shaft having a first alignment surface. A threaded hand wheel couples with the threaded shaft and is configured to move the threaded shaft relative to the first and/or second side plate(s) in response to manual rotation of the threaded hand wheel to adjust a distance between the first and second side plates. An aligner couples with one of the side plates and includes a surface engaging the first alignment surface to prevent rotation of the main load bar.

Beam trolleys with width adjustment system and related methods

A portable crane formed of composite members. A composite mast is coupled to a composite boom. A boom end housing removably couples at a top of the mast and includes an enclosure. A first end of the boom couples within the boom end housing. A boom pivot couples to the boom end housing and couples the boom to the mast. An angle adjuster releasably secures the boom at a desired angle relative to the mast. In implementations an end cap is included at a second end of the boom, coupled to a sheave with a pin, the end cap covering a terminal end of a second end of the boom and extending along both sides of a slot in an upper surface of the second end and along a portion of a first side of the second end and along a portion of a second side of the second end.

A composite lifting beam and methods are provided. Such a lifting beam includes at least one beam element. A plurality of plate elements are mounted to the at least one beam element and are spaced apart along a length of the at least one beam element. The plurality of plate elements provide a first connection arrangement for connecting the beam to a lifting apparatus, and a second connection arrangement for connecting the beam to a load.

The construction of a capacitive Power and/or Ground plane sandwich with fractal element structures to achieve the reduction or elimination of radiated emissions as 'noise' from the planes. This may be achieved in several formats, including the patterning of fractal elements on the outside edge of the ground plane, the patterning of fractal elements on the outside edge of the power plane and the patterning of fractal elements within both of the planes. Fractal element structures may also be formed on the edges of circuit lines, or other conductive elements within the printed circuit board. The ability of these fractal patterns to absorb or reject frequencies on the planes due to the operation of an electronic device on the printed circuit board enhancing and aiding the capacitive effect of the plane in the reduction or elimination of radiated emissions as electronic noise. By utilizing this design maximum quieting of electronic noise may be achieved in all axis (X,Y,Z) without the use of surface bypass capacitors or conventional techniques such as edge plating or via hole edge stitching.

An in situ method for forming a bypass capacitor element internally within a PCB including the steps of arranging one or more uncured dielectric sheets with conductive foils on opposite sides thereof and laminating the conductive foils to the dielectric sheet simultaneously as the PCB is formed by a final lamination step, the conductive foils preferably being laminated to another layer of the PCB prior to their arrangement adjacent the dielectric sheet or sheets, the dielectric foils even more preferably being initially laminated to additional dielectric sheets in order to form multiple bypass capacitive elements as a compound subassembly within the PCB. A number of different dielectric materials and resins are disclosed for forming the capacitor element. A dielectric component in the capacitor element preferably includes dielectric material and thermally responsive material, the thermally responsive material either forming a carrier for the dielectric material or formed as two separate sheets on opposite sides of a sheet of the dielectric material.

A self adhesive bandage roll that unrolls and covers a wounds. The roll includes a carrier strip, a gauze pad strip that is disposed on the carrier strip, and a pair of release sheets of protective material that are releasably disposed on and peelable from the carrier strip. The wound is protected by first peeling back a sufficient amount of the pair of release sheets, then affixing one end of the self adhesive bandage roll to past one extreme of the wound, then unrolling the self adhesive bandage roll longitudinally along the wound with the gauze pad strip longitudinally covering the wound and the adhesive coating adhering the self adhesive bandage roll to the area adjacent the longitudinal perimeters of the wound until the wound has been entirely covered, and then severing by severing apparatus the self adhesive bandage roll at a point past the other extreme of the wound so as to fully cover the wound and the area adjacent the longitudinal perimeters of the wound with the wound being fully covered by the gauze pad strip.
