A lighting system having a plurality of linking sections to form an articulated channel is described. Each linking section includes a first side wall, a second side wall, and a base wall positioned between the first side wall and second side wall to form a U-shape. A first end of each first side wall and each second side wall pivotably connects to the second end of a first side wall and second side wall, respectively, of an adjacent linking section to align the U-shape and form a channel. An LED strip positioned along the base wall within the channel of the plurality of linking sections provides a light source. A flexible diffuser is positioned within the channel above the LED strip.

Articulated lighting channel

A curving recessed lighting system having a plurality of pivoting, connectable channel sections, an LED strip (or more), and a flexible diffuser. Each housing section includes a base having connectable first and second ends, first and second flange members extending upward and outward therefrom and cut to both allow and limit pivoting between adjacent sections, and a U-shaped channel spaced from the flange members to create parallel channels. Flexible bands are secured within the parallel channels to isolate the LED strips within the U-shaped channel, as required. The flange members form two curved surfaces and the U-shaped channel in consecutive sections align to form a curved channel between the two curved surfaces. Preferably, the base portion of each of the plurality of housing sections has a depth not greater than ⅝ inches (0.625 inches). This allows flush placement in standard drywall without the need for notching studs.

Light diffuser

A method for creating a curving recessed lighting system having a plurality of housing sections, an LED strip (or two), and a flexible diffuser. Each housing section includes a base portion having an opening, a first flange having a first width and extending outward from the base portion, and a second flange having a second width and extending outward from the base portion in a direction opposite and coplanar to the first flange. Further, when the housing sections are arranged sequentially, the first and second flanges form two curved surfaces and the base portions in consecutive housing sections align to form a curved channel between the two curved surfaces. Preferably, the base portion of each of the plurality of housing sections has a depth not greater than ⅝ inches (0.625 inches). This allows flush placement in standard drywall without the need for notching studs.

Method for creating a recessed curved channel light system

A junction box cover assembly for attachment over an opening in an electrical junction box allows for a concealed connection to avoid detracting from the lighting fixture. The assembly includes a cover plate capable of being mounted to a junction box, the cover plate having an opening there through defined by a first threaded collar extending from the cover plate, a hub having a flange radially extending from a periphery of a second threaded collar defining a passage and configured to attach to the first threaded collar of the cover plate, and a circular insert detachably connected within the passage defined by the threaded collar, the circular insert having an opening for passing electrical wiring from the junction box through the passage, out the insert opening and to a light fixture. The cover plate and the radially extending flange somewhat sandwich a surface, such as drywall or wallboard, and the flange is configured to permit covering with spackling paste or joint compound to conceal the flange.

Junction box cover and lighting fixture assembly

A tension-mounted support lighting system provides visually stimulating flexile, lighting housed within an unconventional silicone lens. The system offers flexible installation and conceptual yet functional design. The lighting strip bends up and down giving it the unique ability to traverse open spaces wall to wall, wall to ceiling, or floor to ceiling. Various optional components allow customization and control for an ideal outdoor lighting system.

Flexible suspension lighting

A circular recessed channel lighting system having a closed-loop channel section with a U-shaped channel having two parallel sides, first and second flange elements, each flange element extending from an end of one of the parallel sides of the U-shaped channel, an LED positioned within the U-shaped channel, and a flexible lens positioned over an open end of the U-shaped channel to allow light from the LED outward. The flange elements include through holes for adhesion of a building material (e.g., joint compound) and the U-shaped channel has a depth not greater than ⅝ inches (0.625 inches).

Recessed circular channel light system

A curving recessed lighting system having a plurality of housing sections, an LED strip (or two), and a flexible diffuser. Each housing section includes a base portion having an opening, a first flange having a first width and extending outward from the base portion, and a second flange having a second width and extending outward from the base portion in a direction opposite and coplanar to the first flange. The cover plate and the radially extending flange somewhat sandwich a surface, such as drywall or wallboard, and the flange is configured to permit covering with spackling paste or joint compound to conceal the flange.

An angled connector which allows connection between two LED lighting strips without the creation of an undesirable dark gap at connecting corners. The angled connector has a plurality of terminal pairs arranged such that when two LED light strips are connected, a distance between an end LED on one strip and an end LED on the other strip is approximately the same as a distance between adjacent equally-spaced LEDs on surfaces of the two strips. Used in a lighting fixture, a non-linear light source is retained within a housing having an opening through which light from LEDs can be directed. At least first and second adjacent LED light strips are connected at an angle to one another and a distance between end LEDs is approximately the same as a distance between equally-spaced LEDs on the surface of both the first and second LED strips. This configuration eliminates dark gaps at the corners of the fixture.

Angled LED strip connector

A lighting system having a light element, a first connector, a second connector and an electrically coupled power source is described. The light element has a light source, a surface for emitting light. The first connector is fixed to an end of the light element and includes a cylindrical housing defining a cylindrical cavity, the cylindrical cavity having a plug positioned therein, the plug being electrically coupled to the light source within the light element, while the second connector couples to the first connector and has an outer housing and a cylindrical cavity defined therein. The first cylindrical housing is configured to frictionally engage an inner wall of the second cylindrical cavity when connected. A second plug positioned within the second cylindrical cavity has a third cylindrical cavity defined therein, wherein the second plug is configured to frictionally engage an inner wall of the cylindrical cavity and the plug is configured to frictionally engage an inner wall within the third cylindrical cavity. The power source is electrically coupled to the plug through connection with the second plug to power the light source. The first connector is capable of being rotated when coupled to the second connector, preferably a full 360 degrees.

Rotating hanging light connector

A recessible track for a lighting system, the track including a channel defined by first and second opposing sidewalls, a base wall, and a longitudinal opening opposite the base wall, a first lateral flange extending laterally from an exterior of the first sidewall substantially parallel to the base wall and for at least a portion of the length of the track, and a second lateral flange extending from an exterior of the second sidewall substantially parallel to the base wall and for at least a portion of the length of the track. The channel is dimensioned such that it does not extend past a thickness of standard &#x215d;-inch drywall when recessed while the first and second lateral flanges secure the channel to the surface. The flanges may be concealed by blending with the drywall using a concealing material such as a joint compound or the like.

Electric recessible track assembly and method of installation in standard &#x215d;-inch thick drywall

A bendable line voltage track lighting system includes a track having a conductor subassembly and first and second bendable sheaths that engage the conductor subassembly. The conductor subassembly includes first and second insulators that receive first and second bus-bars, respectively, and a compression gasket for biasing the two insulators into engagement with guide grooves in the bendable sheaths. Power is fed to the track by power connectors that engage the bus-bars contained within the conductor subassembly. Light fixtures are powered by making electrical contact with the bus-bars of the conductor subassembly.
