In one aspect an apparatus for use in an electrographic printer is described. The apparatus includes a housing defining a cavity, a developer roller, a developer electrode for developing printing substance onto the developer roller, the electrode being arranged within the cavity, and a heater for heating printing substance to be developed onto the developer roller, the heater being arranged in the cavity.

Apparatus for use in an electrographic printer

In one aspect an apparatus () for use in an electrographic printer () is described. The apparatus includes a housing () defining a cavity (), a developer roller (), a developer electrode () for developing printing substance onto the developer roller, the electrode being arranged within the cavity, and a heater () for heating printing substance to be developed onto the developer roller, the heater being arranged in the cavity.

A liquid electrophotographic (LEP) ink can include a liquid ink vehicle, a conductive toner including a conductive pigment and a polymeric binder, and a charge director. The liquid electrophotographic ink can have a conductivity of from 150 to 2000 picoSiemens.

Liquid electrophotographic inks

The present disclosure is drawn to an electrostatic ink composition comprising a resin having a Mof 10,000 or less and a conductive species. Also disclosed herein is a substrate on which is electrostatically printed a conductive trace, wherein the trace comprises a resin having a Mof 10,000 or less and a conductive species. Further disclosed herein is a method of electrophotographic printing an electrostatic ink composition comprising a resin having a Mof 10,000 or less and a conductive species.

Electrostatic ink compositions

A liquid toner for printing conductive traces is provided. The liquid toner includes a carrier liquid and toner particles dispersed in the carrier liquid. The toner particles include a low symmetry electrically conducting material dispersed in a pigment.

There is provided a method of producing an electrostatic ink composition, the method comprising: mixing a resin, a liquid carrier, and a conductive metallic pigment having a coating of surfactant thereon, to form an electrostatic ink composition comprising the resin and the conductive metallic pigment dispersed in the liquid carrier. An electrostatic ink composition and a substrate are also described.

Electrostatic inks and printing

The present disclosure provides for liquid electrophotographic inks having charge stabilizers and associated methods. In one example, a liquid electrophotographic ink can comprise a carrier liquid, a resin, a pigment, a negative charge director, and a charge stabilizer having a reduction potential of 0.16 v to 3.0 v.

Such a composition and toner provide for scratch resistant print.
