An electric carpet stapler comprises a trigger and switch assembly that has an actuation caused by a change of state of a sensor, which causes the sensor to send a signal to a control circuit to begin a process to supply power to a winding. The trigger and switch assembly includes a trigger that moves in a trigger actuation direction to move a sensor actuator in a sensor actuation direction, causing a change of state in the sensor, which causes the control circuit to begin the process to supply power to the winding. The trigger and switch assembly may also include a toggle. At the actuation of the trigger and switch assembly, the toggle creates a mechanical instability, and a toggle signal to the user, which may be produced mechanically.

A motorized floor stripper machine includes a motor, a frame, and a blade carrier. The blade carrier is capable of holding blades of different sizes, which can be installed on the blade carrier. The blade carrier is mounted to the frame on shock absorbers. A cam on the frame is connected to the blade carrier by a linkage that includes a bearing block, a pivot plate, a pivot pin, and a support plate. The blade carrier includes ball bearings that fit within linear channels mounted to the frame, so that when the cam is driven in an orbital motion, the blade carrier moves in a generally linear forward-backward motion. The blade carrier is relieved and includes multiple sets of holes for securing blades of different sizes.

Motorized floor stripper machine

A cushion back cutter is formed from a first side plate, a second side plate, and a center plate between the first and second side plates. The center plate includes a slot that forms a blade holding pocket with a bottom opening to receive one or more blades. A blade clamp is inserted into the blade clamp opening of the first side plate, and a blade clamp fastener tightens to cause the blade clamp to press the blades against the second side plate to hold the blades in position. The center side plate forms a row guide for guiding the blades of the cutter between adjacent rows of carpet tufts. The row guide may include a region having continuous notches, which tend to move the carpet tufts out of the path of the blades to avoid shearing them.

A carpet seaming iron includes a base assembly and a top cover, within which the heating and control components are located. A bimetal thermostat, an over-temperature cutoff, and/or a thermistor and thermistor cover are secured between the base assembly and top cover by an elevated surface of the base assembly. The base assembly may include a base having an outer groove such that the top cover that fits over the base and in the outer groove of the base. To keep the cord away from a user during operation, the handle of the carpet seaming iron may also be attached to the cord by a rotatable cord guard holder that extends the cord away from the handle and a semi-rigid cord guard that reduces bending of the cord.

Carpet seaming iron

A powered vinyl groover includes a motor attached to a circular blade and a blade housing for covering the circular blade. The blade housing includes a duct to carry cuttings into a collection bag. Near an inlet hole of the duct is a fin, which may be a raised surface on any interior wall of the blade housing extending into the blade housing as close as possible to the blade. The fin causes airflow from the blade to be redirected towards the inlet hole of the duct so that more cuttings enter the duct and are carried by the duct through to an outlet hole to a collection bag mountable over the outlet hole of the duct. The fin may be integral with the blade housing or attached to it, and a fin may also be added to existing groovers.
