The disclosed systems and methods are directed to wireless receiver systems for neutralizing the effects of received RF blocking signals. The configurations presented herein operate to receive RF signals containing a desired signal and a blocking signal, a first module, in communication with the receive RF signals along a first signal path and configured to extract a specimen of the received desired and blocking signals, and a second module, in communication with the first module along a second signal path to receive the desired signal and blocking signal specimens. The second module is configured to produce a replica of the blocking signal based on the blocking signal specimen, generate an anti-blocking signal based on the blocking signal replica, and introduce the anti-blocking signal to the received desired and blocking signals in which the anti-blocking signal destructively interferes to neutralize the received blocking signal.

Wireless receiver system for neutralizing blocking signals

Methods and apparatuses for performing synchronization in a receiver of an analog code division spreading system are described. The method includes outputting a sampling point alignment signal to apply first time delays to align encoder code signals with a sampling point of an ADC The ADC is used to obtain digital samples of the orthogonal code-encoded analog signal at the sampling point. The method also includes outputting a decoder code alignment signal to apply second time delays to align decoder code signals with the digital samples. The method also includes outputting an orthogonal code alignment signal to apply third time delays to the decoder code signals and the encoder code signals, to maintain mutual orthogonality among the decoder code signals and to maintain mutual orthogonality among the encoder code signals.

An amplification unit is provided. The amplification unit, comprises a first amplifier, a second amplifier, a first sensor, a first predistortion component, and a signal combiner. The first amplifier amplifies a first signal to produce a second signal. The first sensor produces a third signal based on the second signal. The second amplifier turns on and to amplifies a fourth signal to produce a fifth signal when the amplitude of the fourth signal exceeds a threshold amplitude and turns off when the amplitude of the fourth signal is less than the threshold amplitude. The first predistortion component produces the first signal based on a first input signal, based on the third signal, and based on an on-off state of the second amplifier. The signal combiner produces an output of the amplification unit based on the second signal and the fifth signal.

An amplifier having a Doherty-type architecture and a method for operation thereof are provided. The amplifier comprises a main amplifier path comprising a main amplifier, an auxiliary amplifier path comprising an auxiliary amplifier, and an signal preparation unit configured to develop a main amplifier input signal for the main amplifier path and an auxiliary amplifier input signal for the auxiliary amplifier path based on an amplifier input that is to be amplified and a transition threshold associated with the amplifier input. By driving the main and auxiliary amplifiers as a function of the transition threshold, the gain of the Doherty-type amplifier may be increased.

An enhanced Doherty-configured amplifier that features separate and independent bias voltage sources for the main and auxiliary amplifiers. The bias voltage sources may be controllable and variable to alter the performance of the amplifier according to the input signal or system requirements. The enhanced amplifier includes a signal preparation unit to divide and shape the input signal in order to compensate for non-linearities in the combined output signal.
