The present disclosure relates to an epoxy tube for an optical fiber connector. The tube can be mounted to a ferrule hub by a snap fit connection. The connection between the tube and the ferrule hub allows for float of the epoxy tube where the epoxy tube is not rigidly attached to the hub. The epoxy tube can be configured to move about an arc of rotational circular movement while remaining linear such that the epoxy tube does not bend or transfer forces to the hub.

Aspects and techniques of the present disclosure relate to fiber optic connectors with features that help eliminate the potential of a capillary effect or epoxy wicking. The fiber optic connector may include an epoxy tube with segments that define a pocket in an area that helps to prevent capillary action between components that are otherwise closely positioned.

A fiber optic connector with a hub extension positioned on the hub of the connector. Prior to assembly of the connector with the rear boot, the hub and ferrule assembly can be pushed backward within the front and rear housings to clear an anti-rotation portion of the front housing and turned for tuning. After complete assembly of the rear boot, the hub extension bottoms out against the boot prior to the hub and ferrule assembly disengaging the anti-rotation portion of the front housing, thereby maintaining the tuned position.

A fiber optic telecommunications device includes a rack for mounting a plurality of chassis, each chassis including a plurality of trays slidably mounted thereon and arranged in a vertically stacked arrangement. The present disclosure relates to fiber optic connection systems including fiber optic connector having retractable noses for protecting bare fiber ends of ferrule-less connectors. In certain examples, the retractable noses are used in combination with protective shutters. In other examples, the retractable noses can accommodate multiple optical fibers.

Fiber optic connectors, connector assemblies, and associated methods having tuning features and aspects. The tuning features/aspects allow for a tuning mechanism of a rear housing to be moved axially between an anti-rotation region and a tuning chamber defined by a front housing. Aspects and techniques of the present disclosure relate to an alignment device that includes a groove-type alignment structure with a support region for receiving an optical fiber inserted along a fiber insertion axis. The optical fiber has a first side and a second, opposite side. The groove-type alignment structure engages the first side of the optical fiber. The alignment device includes a stabilization structure that engages the first side of the optical fiber and a first angled transition surface that engages the second, opposite side of the optical fiber. The present disclosure also relates to an alignment system that includes a first housing piece; a second housing piece adapted to mate with the first housing piece; and a flat structure positioned between the first and second housing pieces.

Multi-fiber ferrule-less duplex fiber optic connectors with multi-fiber alignment devices

A multi-fiber cable assembly includes an optical connector and a cable. The optical connector includes a connector body; an optical ferrule body, and alignment elements. The optical ferrule body has an end face defining a plurality of alignment openings arranged in rows and has a plurality of buckling chambers. Each buckling chamber is aligned with one of the rows of the alignment openings. The optical fibers of the cable have bare portions secured at a first end of the optical ferrule body using rigid epoxy. Each of the optical fibers is routed through one of the buckling chambers to one of the alignment holes.

A cable guide device operates as a cable bend limiting device that is removed once a cable is routed. The device includes a body portion and a guide surface. The body portion is configured to hold the device at a work area. The guide surface provides a surface along which the cable is routed. The guide surface may have a radius of curvature not less than the minimum bend radius of the cable.
