Shortwave infrared (SWIR) hyperspectral imaging (HSI) systems comprise a supercontinuum laser source configured to illuminate objects and a receiver comprising a spectrometer configured to receive light reflected from the objects. In some cases, hyperspectral images can be created by raster scanning of the source/receiver across a scene. The supercontinuum laser source provides active illumination to allow collection of hyperspectral imagery during day (including overcast conditions) and night. Additionally, the hyperspectral imaging systems can use range-gated imaging.

Hyperspectral imaging systems

A fishing lure that contains electronics and provides the lure with characteristics that better attract fish. The fishing lure has a body with external flank surfaces. A plurality of light sources are contained within the lure. The light sources shine light out from the flank surfaces of the lure when activated. A light sensor in the lure detects ambient light levels outside of the lure. The light levels detected by the light sensor are used to control the output intensity of the light sources as they activate. In addition to internal light sources, the fishing lure may also contain a transducer for creating acoustical particle motion in the water. Both the light sources and the transducer are controlled in a unique manner that causes the lure to closely mimic the visual and acoustical properties of a live baitfish.

Artificial fishing lure that generates visual and audible signals

A fishing lure assembly and the method of making a unique fill composition that causes attractant scent compounds to be dispensed from the fishing lure assembly. The fishing lure assembly has a body that can retain a volume of fill composition. The fill composition contains an ion exchange material and attractant scent compounds that are ionically bonded together. When the fishing lure is submersed in water, the fill composition is exposed to a controlled flow of water. In an ion exchange reaction, ions contained within the water bond to the ion exchange material and thus free the previously bonded attractant scent compounds. The freed attractant scent compounds flow out of the lure assembly with the passing water.
