The present invention is directed to a phosphated epoxy resin comprising at least one terminal group comprising a phosphorous atom covalently bonded to the resin by a carbon-phosphorous bond or by a phosphoester linkage; and at least one carbamate functional group. The present invention is also directed towards aqueous resinous dispersions comprising the phosphated epoxy resin, methods of coating a substrate, coated substrates, and methods of making a phosphated epoxy resin.

Electrodepositable coating composition

The present invention is directed to an addition polymer comprising an addition polymer backbone; at least one moiety comprising a phosphorous acid group, the moiety being covalently bonded to the addition polymer backbone by a carbon-carbon bond; and at least one carbamate functional group. The present invention is also directed towards methods of making the addition polymer, aqueous resinous dispersions and electrodepositable coating compositions comprising the addition polymer, methods of coating a substrate and coated substrates.

Aqueous intumescent coating compositions which include a non-ionic surfactant having a hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) of 9 to 20, and substrates coated with the coating composition are disclosed. Inclusion of the non-ionic surfactant in the coating compositions is found to reduce char cracking and improve the mechanical strength, cell size, and cell density for intumescent chars formed when coatings deposited from the coating compositions are exposed to open flame and/or elevated temperatures, as compared to the same coatings lacking the non-ionic surfactants.

Methods of transferring an electrically conductive material to a substrate are disclosed. The methods include: a) contacting at least a portion of the substrate with an electrically conductive material disposed on a carrier film; and b) applying heat and pressure to the substrate and carrier film for a period of time ranging from 1 to 40 seconds, at a temperature ranging from 200&#xb0; F. to 450&#xb0; F., and at a pressure ranging from 30 to 150 psi, such that the electrically conductive material adheres to the substrate. Methods of forming a layered structure are also disclosed.

The present invention discloses a method for forming a laminated window. The method includes: a) assembling a mold between two plies that make up a laminated window; b) filling the mold with a reaction mixture having: (1) at least one chain extender; (2) at least one polyether polyol having a molecular weight of approximately 1,000; and (3) at least one aliphatic polyisocyanate; and c) curing the reaction mixture.

The present invention is directed to methods of separating a fluid emulsion stream into a hydrocarbon stream and an aqueous stream, by contacting the stream with a microporous membrane to yield a hydrocarbon product stream and an aqueous product stream. The membrane comprises a substantially hydrophobic, polymeric matrix, and substantially hydrophilic, finely divided, particulate, substantially water-insoluble filler distributed throughout the matrix. The polymeric matrix has a mean pore size less than 1.0 micron, and the purities of the product streams are independent of the flux rate of the aqueous product stream and the pore size of the membrane.
