A fluoro-organosiloxane composition, coating and process for depositing the coating. Substituted tetramethylenedisiloxane precursor at a flow rate (Q) and perfluorinated propylene oxide precursor at a flow rate (Q) are introduced into a process chamber at a flow rate ratio (Q/Q) in the range of 0.1 to 2.0 (g/(hr·sccm)). A pulsed DC voltage is applied to a substrate and a fluoro-organosiloxane coating is deposited on the substrate, wherein the coating exhibits a water contact angle in oil (WCA/O) of greater than 155°.

Plasma having a density is formed and cyclically positioned along the length of the tubular structure. Apparatus and method for measuring flow of gas with entrained liquids

A multi-stage pump has a housing defining a plurality of stages each having an internal rotor enclosure with each enclosure having a non-pumping inlet and outlet. A plurality of rotor assemblies are operatably contained in housing extending through all of the stages. The rotor assemblies and rotor enclosures are shaped to provide a smaller inlet volumetric delivery rate at the last (downstream or outlet) stage than at the first (upstream or inlet) stage. A plurality of fluid lines connect the non-pumping chambers to enable the pump to handle liquid so that, as the rotor assemblies are rotated, a fluid stream entering the pump inlet is subjected to a pumping action to transport the fluid stream to exit through the pump outlet.

Efficient Multistage pump

Apparatuses are described for cooling the rotors of, improving the sealing of, and improving the power efficiency of twin-screw pumps. Such methods include (1) injecting liquid onto the rotor and into the rotor chambers at the point of greatest temperature accumulation, (2) implanting a heat transfer device within the rotor enclosure that can transfer heat outside of the rotor enclosure, and (3) injecting liquid into rotor chambers via energy recovery devices which reduce the total power consumption of the system.

Apparatus for cooling high-pressure boost high gas-fraction twin-screw

There is disclosed an apparatus for pumping multiphase fluids in oil field production, particularly a twin-screw pump for providing a large pressure boost to high gas-fraction inlet streams. The pump includes a housing having an internal rotor enclosure, the enclosure having an inlet and an outlet and a plurality of rotors operably contained in the enclosure. Each rotor has a shaft and a plurality of outwardly extending threads affixed thereon, the rotors being shaped to provide a non-uniform volumetric delivery rate along the length of each rotor. The pump also has means for rotating the rotors, whereby a fluid stream entering from the inlet is subjected to a pumping action to transport the fluid stream to exit the rotor enclosure through the outlet. In one embodiment, the rotors have a plurality of threaded pumping stages separated by unthreaded non-pumping chambers. Further, the threads of each pumping stage may have a different screw profile to provide progressively decreasing inlet volumetric delivery rates from the inlet to the outlet of the rotor enclosure. The multiple stages provide better power efficiency than traditional twin-screw pumps for high-pressure boost operation at gas fractions up to 100% without seizing or loss of pressure boost.

An apparatus and method for maintaining continuous flow in a closed loop test system, of a multiphase composition such as that utilized and obtained from oil and gas wells and the like. The method and system provide a test structure whereby a study of the changes in a multiphase composition (gas/liquid/solid) flow can be studied. Specifically, the method and apparatus provide for pressure boosting the gaseous components of the multiphase composition after separation from the liquid and solid components of the system. A hydrostatic head through which the liquid and solid components flow provides the necessary potential energy-kinetic energy exchange such that when the pressure boosted gas is recombined with the downcomer liquid/solid components, continuous flow of the multiphase composition is maintained. Pressure and temperature controls permit the accurate maintenance of pressure, temperature and flow conditions so as to imitate a real-world environment for multiphase composition flow.
