A wireless communication system may include a first base station having a first communication coverage area and operating in an HFDD mode using a first frequency and a second frequency in an alternating pattern. The system may also include a second base station having a second communication coverage area different than the first communication coverage area and also operating in an HFDD mode. The second base station may communicate using the first frequency and the second frequency in an opposite alternating pattern from the first base station.

System and method for extending communication coverage in a wireless network

A wireless communication system includes a private LTE base station, a commercial carrier LTE base station, and a mobile wireless communications device. The mobile wireless communications device includes an LTE transceiver, a memory, and a controller coupled to the LTE transceiver and the memory. The controller stores an assigned AC value in the memory based upon a priority of use characteristic value, stores a random AC value in the memory, and determines whether access is available to the private LTE base station or the commercial carrier LTE base station. When the private LTE base station is available for access, a connection is made based upon the assigned AC value and a private LTE barring value received from the private LTE base station. When the commercial carrier LTE base station is available for access, a connection is made based upon the random AC value and a commercial carrier barring value.

Wireless communication system having assigned access classes and related methods

A wireless communication network is provided that includes a plurality of communication cells each defined by at least one communication coverage area and a plurality of access points each corresponding to a different one of the plurality of communication cells. Each access point is configured to communicate on a first frequency with at least one of (i) a subscriber in the at least one communication coverage area in a first communication cell and (ii) a subscriber in a second communication cell. Each access point is further configured to communicate on a second frequency with an access point in a third communication cell.

Wireless communication network providing multi-hop communications

A wireless communication network is provided that includes a plurality of access points. A plurality of the access points are configured as local access points that are each configured to operate at one of a set of frequencies and within a communication range. The local access points may communicate with a mobile device within the corresponding local access point communication range. The wireless network further includes an access point configured as a master access point to communicate with each of the plurality of local access points at a frequency that is outside the set of frequencies of the local access points.

Wireless communication network providing communication between mobile devices and access points

A multi-stage amplifier is coupled with a power detector. The multi-stage amplifier includes a plurality of amplifier stages in series, with a signal path extending through them. The power detector is coupled to an interior node of the amplifier along the signal path, and is operable to sample a first signal being transmitted on the signal path. The power detector outputs a second signal reflective of a power of the first signal. In one embodiment, the interior node is in a matching network of the amplifier disposed between a first amplifier stage and a final amplifier stage of the amplifier. The second signal may be used in a feedback network to adjust an amount of amplification of the first signal by the amplifier.
