A portable modular pedestrian ramp comprises a plurality of modular ramp units. Each of the modular ramp units comprises a pair of side edge plates each having inwardly facing sides to which opposite ends of decking are attached. The side edge plates of at least some of the modular ramp units have opposite ends thereof that are releasably connectable to one another by self-locking connectors to provide different ramp lengths without the need for any tools or fasteners to join the modular ramp units together or disassemble the modular ramp units for transportation and storage.

A barricade assembly comprises a pair of laterally spaced uprights for supporting at least one barricade board, and a foldable leg assembly for selectively supporting the uprights in a generally upright position. The leg assembly comprises two pairs of legs, one of which has a sliding connection with the respective uprights, and the other of which has a pivotal connection with the respective legs of the one pair and with the respective uprights. When the legs of both pairs are unfolded, the legs of both pairs support the uprights in a generally upright position, whereas when the legs of both pairs are folded, the legs of the one pair are nested within the legs of the other pair substantially in line with the inner sides of the respective uprights to provide a substantially flat barricade assembly for ease of stacking of a plurality of such barricade assemblies on top of one another during storage and/or transit.

Pedestrian barricade assembly includes a plurality of uprights and associated guide rails. Each upright includes a front section having one or more transversely extending channels. Each of the channels has a pair of laterally spaced semi-circular flanges in upper and lower side walls of the channels that are slidably engageable by upper and lower open notches adjacent end portions of the guide rails to provide hinge connections therebetween.

An inertial barrier includes a standard size plastic container and a single size insert that is supported by a ledge inside the container for supporting different amounts of sand or other dispersible granular energy absorbing material thereon to achieve different barrier weight configurations. The insert has an axially upwardly, radially inwardly extending top wall that permits some downward flexing of the insert inside the container as the weight of the material that is placed on the insert builds up, causing the sides of the insert to expand and push radially outwardly against the container side wall, preventing the material from leaking past the insert inside the container. Axially extending ribs may be provided in the container side wall for increased strength and rigidity.

A portable highway warning device includes any number of elongated rumble strips each fabricated of a suitable flexible polymeric material. Embedded within each rumble strip are a plurality of laterally spaced metal plates or bars to provide ballast to each rumble strip. The metal plates or bars run transversely across the width of each rumble strip with sufficient spacing therebetween to permit each rumble strip to be rolled up lengthwise from end to end when not in use.

Plastic molded uprights and/or light and flag mounts may include stepped upper ends for mounting of a light thereon and/or laterally spaced apart oppositely downwardly angled flag mounting holes extending at least partway therethrough adjacent the upper ends thereof. One or more pairs of integral molded, axially spaced apart flanges may protrude outwardly from one of the front and back walls of the uprights for aiding in locating and supporting one or more barricade boards between respective pairs of flanges.

Plastic blow molded board-like members include a plurality of longitudinally extending, laterally spaced aligned channels/grooves in opposite sides of the members. Each of the channels has closely spaced apart side walls and inner end walls. The inner end walls of aligned channels in opposite sides of the member are joined together to provide a relatively high strength reinforced core. The ends of the members are completely closed during the blow molding process for increased strength and to keep out dirt and moisture.

A base support for supporting a post or other upright in a generally upright position includes an elongated base member having a wider portion intermediate its length containing a mounting hole for receipt of an end portion of the post or other upright. A carrying handle may be provided on a side wall of the base member adjacent one end of the wider intermediate portion.

A traffic channelizer device includes a deformable hollow plastic drum that may be ballasted by a drop over ballasting collar or by a base having an upper portion that may be releasably retained within the open bottom of the drum by a plurality of circumferentially spaced radially inwardly extending locking fingers adjacent the bottom edge of the drum that releasably engage a groove in the upper portion of the base. An intermittent stacking rim may be provided at the top of the drum to prevent overstacking of a plurality of such drums. Also the intermittent stacking rim may be used to prevent rotation of a portable sign assembly relative to the drum and keep the portable sign assembly from inadvertently sliding up off the drum top.

Traffic channelizer devices

A portable sign assembly includes one or more sign supports attached to the outer surface of a flexible band that may be adjustable to fit different diameter drums. Each sign support may have a substantially planar front face to facilitate attachment of a panel assembly to the sign support. The panel assembly may comprise one or more sign panels. If there is more than one sign panel, a drop panel having a greater vertical height than the sign support may be attached to the sign support to provide a larger attachment area for the sign panels.

Guardrail delineators include a flag portion and a depending leg portion. One side edge of the leg portion has a notch axially spaced from the flag portion. The top surface of the notch is engageable with a top edge of the guardrail or a top edge of the support structures for the guardrail for positioning the flag portion a predetermined height above the guardrail. The one side edge of the leg portion axially outwardly of the notch extends perpendicular from the inner end of the notch and is engageable with the back side of the guardrail or support structures for providing proper vertical alignment of the delineators with respect to the guardrail.
