Systems and methods can provide an indication of a weather condition. The system can utilize a processor that determines the weather condition from data associated with at least one camera at a remote location. The data can be compared to calibration data for the remote location to determine the weather condition. The indication can be provided to an aircraft. The camera can be a web camera, a traffic camera, infrared camera or other observation device.

Automated weather sensing system and method using cameras

A radar system can include electronics configured to receive communications from a terrestrial location. The communications can include composite weather data from a plurality of sources and scheduling data. The scheduling data can include an indication of timing for sending local weather data sensed by an airborne radar system to the terrestrial location. The terrestrial system can provide composite weather radar data to an airborne source.

System and method for weather detection using more than one source of radar data

A method of managing an aircraft in flight may include electronically monitoring for a presence of a threat object along a flight path of the aircraft and at a destination airport of the aircraft, and electronically generating an alert when the presence of the threat object is detected. The alert may include information enabling air traffic control (ATC), flight dispatch, and a pilot of the aircraft to make a collaborative flight path correction decision that may prevent the aircraft from being affected by the threat object.
