Techniques and apparatus for mechanical assembly of an imaging device are described. An example image sensor assembly disposed within an imaging device includes a circuit board, an image sensor disposed on the circuit board, and an optics holder. The optics holder includes a support location, a thermally conductive material, and a plurality of extended surfaces that extend outward in a direction away from the circuit board. Each of the plurality of extended surfaces includes the thermally conductive material. The image sensor assembly also includes an optical lens disposed in the support location of the optics holder. The circuit board is disposed between the optics holder and a housing of the imaging device.

Mechanical assembly for camera systems

Embodiments describe techniques for controlling picking robots to retrieve items on the floor and return them to an appropriate location. In one embodiment, the picking robots wait until a sensor in a monitored area (e.g., a designated robot area or an area around a pick/stow station) detects a dropped item on the floor. A central control system then dispatches the picking robot to the location to retrieve the dropped item. In another embodiment, when not being dispatched, the picking robots patrol the area looking for dropped items.

The at least one drive unit is configured to autonomously transition to the calibration region upon detecting at least one predetermined condition, and perform a calibration test of the first sensor at the calibration region using the calibration apparatus.

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for controlling one or more vehicles with the use of navigation markers positioned or integrated into a ground surface. A vehicle, such as an autonomous vehicle, may include a light detection assembly, which may include a light emitter, an optical filter, an optical sensor, and an analog-to-digital converter, and optionally may include a lens. The light emitter may emit light towards the ground surface which may illuminate the navigation marker and cause the navigation marker to emit light passes through the optical filter and is ultimately sensed by the optical sensor. The vehicle may determine the light was emitted by the navigation marker and cause the vehicle to perform the predetermined action.

Systems and methods for controlling vehicles with navigation markers

Systems and methods for evaluating the performance of three-dimensional (3D) sensors can include, for example, obtaining, via a 3D sensor in a testing apparatus, range information of a scene within a field-of-view (FOV) of the 3D sensor. The scene includes a plurality of targets disposed within the testing apparatus. Each of the plurality of targets is located at a different distance from the 3D sensor in the testing apparatus. A validation of the performance of the 3D sensor at the different distances is performed at a same point in time, based on the range information. An indication of a result of the validation is provided.
