A system and method includes making a configuration change at a control panel in a security system. A message is encrypted with the configuration change and is automatically sent via a public network. The message is received at a receiver coupled to the public network and decrypted. A central controller database is then updated with the configuration change.

Dynamic information exchange for remote security system

A method and system utilize a logic based controller and a user actuatable device to provide a command to the logic based controller. The logic based controller receives the command, which may be prioritized, and processes the command in accordance with predefined logic to determine whether to actuate a vehicle barrier switch to raise or lower a vehicle barrier.

Logical controller for vehicle barrier

An intrusion detection module includes an enclosure and a sensor to detect a predetermined type of intrusion. The module further includes a tamper sensor to detect a tampering attempt. An encryption mechanism is coupled to receive signals from the sensor and tamper sensor and encrypt such signals for transmission to a control panel.
