A first invite message including a parent device identifier assigned to a parent device is received. The first invite message refers to an incoming call or an outgoing call. The incoming call or the outgoing call are then routed between a parent telephony application server (TAS) allocated to the parent device and a child TAS allocated to a child device. In some cases, the child device is a mobile child device that is registered with an Internet Protocol (IP) multimedia subsystem (IMS) network using a unique identifier that is associated with a child device identifier assigned to the mobile child device. The parent TAS is able to store the child device identifier and the child TAS is able to store the parent device identifier.

Various embodiments relate to a portable user device including: a wireless transceiver; wherein the portable user device is configured to send a request, via the wireless transceiver, to replace a first user communication device in a communication session between the first user communication device and a second user communication device in response to receiving an indication of the communication session; and via the wireless transceiver, establishing a communication connection with the second user communication device in response to receiving, via the wireless transceiver, an agreement to the request.

Seamless mechanism to connect an active call to another device

The supporting of the managed call recording is used for a call between a calling party and a called party, where a network node receives an invite message that initiates the call, and it is determined that either the calling party or the called party is a managed call recording (MCR) subscriber. A conference bridge is created for the calling party, the called party, and a session initiation protocol recording server (SRS), after the call has been answered by the called party. The network node transmits instructions to play MCR announcements using the conference bridge, prior to the call being connected between the calling party and the called party, where the call is recorded by the SRS.

System and method for supporting managed call recording services

Example embodiments provide a method and/or network element capable of joining SIP communication devices into an existing call. According to an example embodiment, a network element may join SIP communication devices by receiving an incoming call from a calling communication device and establishing a connection between the calling communication device and at least one associated communication device in a set of associated communication devices. The set of associated communication devices may be notified of the connection and a conference procedure may be performed in response to an unconnected communication device being activated, such that a multi-way conference connection is established between the calling communication device, the at least one associated communication device, and the at least one unconnected communication device.
