The plurality of devices are configured to measure or generate a plurality of points in a building automation system. The configuration tool is configured to generate a control program. The controller is configured to identify a primary list of N devices, where N is an integer. The controller is configured to automatically generate a plurality of secondary lists of points based on the primary list of N devices. The controller is configured to provide the plurality of secondary lists of points as inputs to a control logic configured to use the plurality of secondary lists of points to generate one or more control signals to control the N devices.

Systems and methods for automatic interaction with a flexible number of devices

A building automation system (BAS) with microservice architecture. The system includes a server platform configured to perform various operations within the building automation system. The server platform includes a microservices platform configured to execute various processes within the BAS. The microservices platform includes a plurality of nodes where each node is configured to run one or more services as separate processes. The microservices platform further includes a message bus configured to control communication between processes and an orchestration network configured to control communication between the plurality of nodes. The server platform further includes a common data model (CDM) shared between the plurality of nodes where the CDM consists of metadata of the BAS. The server platform further includes a container orchestration platform configured to manage and control the plurality of nodes.

At least two of the plurality of space profiles are associated with a different type of space that serves a different function and define the target utilization of the space. The utilization circuit is further configured to generate a normalized utilization metric for the space by normalizing the utilization attribute relative to the utilization target and generate and provide a utilization recommendation for the space based on the normalized utilization metric.

A building management system includes a plurality of devices of building equipment and a control engine configured to, for at least one space of one or more spaces, associate the space with a group of the plurality of devices. The control engine is also configured to select a first space profile of a plurality of space profiles associated with a first type of space. The first space profile includes a plurality of modes each corresponding to a different functional state of the space. The control engine is also configured to select a mode of the plurality of modes of the first space profile, determine a setting of the set of settings of the first space profile based on the selected mode, and control the one or more devices that serve the space in accordance with the settings defined by the first space profile and the selected mode.

The building automation system has a first device and a second device interconnected across a network channel. A common object superclass stored in a computer readable memory defines a plurality of common objects through instantiation such that the common objects have attributes for storing data and have methods for processing stored data. A source object residing on the first device performs a first control method such that a first attribute of the source object is changed. A destination object residing on the second device performs a second control method using the first attribute of the source object. A surrogate object connected between the source object and the destination object has a value for the first attribute and represents the source object on the second device. The second object has access to the value of the first attribute for performing the second method.
