Disclosed herein are example techniques for voice detection by multiple NMDs. An example implementation may involve one or more servers receiving, via a network interface, data representing multiple audio recordings of a voice input spoken by a given user, each audio recording recorded by a respective NMD of the multiple NMDs, wherein the voice input comprises a detected wake-word. Based on respective sound pressure levels of the multiple audio recordings of the voice input, the servers (i) select a particular NMD of the multiple NMDs and (ii) forego selection of other NMDs of the multiple NMDs. The servers send, via the network interface to the particular NMD, data representing a playback command that corresponds to a voice command in the voice input represented in the multiple audio recordings, wherein the data representing the playback command causes the particular NMD to play back audio content according to the playback command.

Voice detection by multiple devices

Disclosed herein are example techniques for voice detection by multiple NMDs. An example implementation may involve receiving a set of voice recordings from a set of NMDs, and identifying a subset of voice recordings from which to determine a given voice command. The example implementation may further involve causing the identified subset of voice recordings to be analyzed to determine the given voice command.

A playback device identifies a first audio filter and a second audio filter. The first audio filter is configured to have a first frequency response and the second audio filter is configured to have a second frequency response. The audio input is processed according to the first audio filter and the second audio filter to produce respective first audio output and second audio output. The first audio speaker renders the first audio output and the second audio speaker renders the second audio output, where the second frequency response of the second audio filter compensates for interference between the first audio output rendered by the first audio speaker and the second audio output rendered by the second audio speaker.

Audio filters based on configuration

Systems, methods, and apparatus to filter audio are disclosed. An example method includes determining that an orientation of a playback device is one of (a) a first orientation and (b) a second orientation, the playback device including a first speaker and a second speaker and configuring the first speaker and the second speaker. In the example, configuring the first and second speakers includes, when the determined orientation is the first orientation, configuring a first audio filter to be applied to a first audio signal for the first speaker and configuring a second audio filter to be applied to a second audio signal for the second speaker. However, when the determined orientation is the second orientation, configuring the first and second speakers includes configuring a third audio filter to be applied to the first audio signal and the second audio signal.

Systems, methods, and apparatus to filter audio

Systems, methods, and apparatus to filter audio are disclosed. An example device includes first and second audio speakers having first audio characteristics, a third audio speaker having second audio characteristics, wherein the third speaker is positioned between the first and second audio speakers, a first audio filter to process an audio input signal to have a first frequency response including a first cutoff frequency, the first audio filter to output a first audio output signal to the first audio speaker, and a second audio filter to process the audio input signal to have a second frequency response to compensate for interference between the first and second frequency responses caused by a position of the first audio speaker relative to the second audio speaker.
