A motorized saw assembly includes a base assembly having a workpiece support surface which defines a workpiece surface plane, an upper support assembly configured to support a saw blade, and a hinge assembly including a first linkage assembly and a second linkage assembly. The upper support assembly is configured to move between a first position, whereat the first linkage assembly and the second linkage assembly extend substantially perpendicular to the workpiece surface plane, and a second position, whereat the first linkage assembly and the second linkage assembly extend over the workpiece support surface.

Miter saw having an angled glide hinge

A clamp apparatus for connection to a miter saw includes a shaft and a carriage assembly. The carriage assembly is slidably coupled to the shaft. The carriage assembly includes a carriage body, a first camp assembly, and a second clamp assembly. The first clamp assembly is configured for movement relative to the carriage body between a first clamp position and a second clamp position. The first clamp assembly is further configured (i) to enable movement of the carriage body relative to the shaft when the first clamp assembly is in the first clamp position and (ii) to prevent movement of the carriage body relative to the shaft when the first clamp assembly is in the second clamp position. The second clamp assembly is configured for movement relative to the carriage body between a third camp position and a fourth clamp position.

Workpiece clamp for miter saw

A power saw arrangement includes a saw blade, a base, a table and a supplemental support. The base defines a support surface and includes first and second stops. The table is movably coupled to the base and rotates about a table axis. The handle extends from the table and is movable relative to the base between first and second positions. In the first and second positions, the handle engages the first and second stops, respectively. A handle space is defined by movement of the handle between the first and second stops. The supplemental support does not provide the first or second stop. The supplemental support is movably coupled to the base and is moveable between extended and retracted positions. In the extended and retracted positions, the supplemental support is positioned within and without the handle space, respectively.

Forward extending workpiece support

A blade mounting assembly for mounting a rotary blade to an arbor comprises an outer washer including a hub configured to extend through a bore of the blade, the hub defining a central bore sized to receive a spindle of the arbor. The hub further includes a locating surface arranged to contact the shoulder when the spindle extends through the central bore. The washer includes an engagement surface contacting the left side face of the blade when the hub extends through the bore of the blade. The engagement surface is disposed a fixed axial distance from the locating surface relative to the length of the hub. A fastener engages the outer washer to the arbor with the locating surface in contact with the shoulder. The assembly further includes a biasing element configured to be disposed over the hub between the shoulder and the right side face of the blade.

A motorized saw in one embodiment includes a work support surface, a cutting blade supported above the work support surface and defining a cutting plane extending through a center portion of the cutting blade, a light source configured to generate a beam of light, a first reflector aligned with a first path in which a first portion of the beam of light travels and defining a first tracking line path along a first side of the cutting plane, the first reflector configured to move along and remain aligned with the first path, and a second reflector aligned with a second path in which a second portion of the beam of light travels and defining a second tracking line path along a second side of the cutting plane, the second reflector configured to move along and remain aligned with the second path.
