A showerhead assembly including a plurality of scanner nozzles. Each scanner nozzle includes an oscillation chamber fluidly coupled to an inlet aperture and an outlet aperture, and configured to discharge a random sweeping jet from the outlet aperture over a coverage area.

A fluidic nozzle of the scanner type has its outlet spray pattern skewed from its chamber axis (A) by an amount determined by the asymmetry of its outlet orifice () about that axis. A spray assembly () of such nozzles, such as a showerhead, can be designed using nozzles with selected pattern skew angles to achieve desired spray coverage. Indexing tabs () and slots () are used to angularly position the nozzles in the showerhead. A portion of each nozzle may be formed with the showerhead faceplate () as an integral piece.

Fluidic faucet spray face and spray generation method

A clog resistant in-line vortex emitter and drip irrigation assembly and method uses a double-sided circuit and a series of vortex chambers of optimized dimensions to create a pressure drop with large dimensions and good clog resistance. The vortex chamber 100 also al lows for a lower exponent than traditional circuits. This gives a pressure regulating property to the no-moving-parts circuit. The vortex emitter allows for some pressure regulation without sacrificing recyclability or requiring moving parts. The vortex circuit of the present disclosure is optimized for an emitter efficiency Ef value wherein Ef=(k/Ackt)*Amin such that k is a unitless head loss coefficient, Ackt is the area of the circuit, and Amin is the minimum cross sectional area of the circuit. A higher k per a given area with larger dimensions allows for a smaller part with a lower chance of clogging.

A new scanner fluidic oscillator is used in an economically manufactured fluidic showerhead or nozzle assemblywhich aims oscillating sprays from multiple scanner fluidics to spread water uniformly over a preselected coverage area. The scanner fluidics and showerhead of the present invention provide a pleasing spray pattern, droplet size, droplet velocity, and temperature uniformity at very low flow rates (i.e., 2 gpm or less) for showering. A fluidic scanner nozzle comprising an interaction chamber defined between an upstream end and a downstream end with a longitudinal chamber axis. The upstream end having an inlet opening for receiving and delivering pressurized fluid into said interaction chamber along said chamber axis. The downstream end having an outlet orifice for issuing a generally conical outlet spray of liquid droplets from said chamber into ambient environment and an axial gap positioned between said upstream end and said downstream end. The upstream and downstream ends may define inner cavities having a hemisphere shape. The axial gap may define a cylindrical sidewall segment aligned between an upper hemisphere shaped inner cavity and a lower hemisphere shaped inner cavity. The axial gap includes a selected axial length and an inside diameter that may be either a continuous axial gap or a stepped axial gap.

A cooling tower is provided having a heat exchange section, and a fan for moving air through the heat exchange section. A water distribution assembly provides water onto and through the heat exchange section. An air inlet section is provided through which air is drawn into the cooling tower and the heat exchange section. The air inlet section has outside edges and corners. A wall assembly is provided in the air inlet section, with the wall assembly extending from the corners of the air inlet section inwardly. The water passing through the heat exchange section enters the air inlet section, and exits to a sump beneath the air inlet section. The air inlet section is comprised of a structure having outside edges and corners, and the wall assembly is comprised of a plurality of wall panel sections. Water entering the water chamber or manifold flows turbulently into and through the manifold and is expelled under pressure through a plurality of nozzles which are configured as specially adapted fluidic inserts.

A long throw Pop-Up Irrigation Nozzle assembly has no oscillating or rotating parts and includes a cylindrical body having a fluid inlet and a sidewall defining at least one fluidic circuit configured to generate a selected spray pattern when irrigation fluid flows through the body. In order to throw long distance, droplet velocity, droplet size and droplet initial aim angle determine the throw to provide a low precipitation rate ('PR') for fluidic sprays. The nozzle assembly and method of the present invention achieve a PR of 1 in/hr or less and good spray distribution with a scheduling coefficient ('SC') of about 1.5 without utilizing any moving components to provide a significantly more cost effective nozzle assembly, as compared to prior art rotator nozzles.
