A method, a computer system and a computer-readable medium are provided for providing a single window in which a user may both modify a file system hierarchy of the computer system and select a file system object name to use for saving an application document residing in a memory of the computer system as a file system object. A window containing a visual representation of the file system hierarchy is displayed. A command to modify the file system hierarchy is received in connection with the window. The received command to modify the file system hierarchy is processed. The visual representation of the file system hierarchy is redisplayed in the window to reflect the modification of the file system hierarchy. A command to select a file system object name within the file system hierarchy is received in connection with the window. A representation of the application document residing in the memory is stored as a file system object using the selected file system object name.

Method and system for accessing shell folder capabilities by an application program

A method and system for adding configuration files for a user. The method receives an identification of the user. Then, the method locates user profile information which identifies configuration files, a source folder that contains the configuration files, and a destination folder in which to copy the configuration files. For each identified configuration file, the method copies the configuration file to the appropriate folder or deletes the configuration file from the appropriate folder. The method also stores location information identifying the location of the destination folder. Then a computer program can retrieve the location information and can access the configuration files in the destination folder during configuration of the computer program.

Method and system for adding configuration files for a user

A method and system for authenticating access to heterogeneous computing services is provided. In a preferred embodiment, logon providers are configured into the computer system, which provide secure access to their services by requiring authentication of user identification information using a logon mechanism. According to this embodiment, a user designates a primary logon provider to provide an initial logon user interface. The user enters identification information when this user interface is displayed, for example a user name, a password and a domain. The computer system executes a logon sequence, which first invokes the primary logon provider to collect identification information and to authenticate the user for access to services provided by the primary logon provider. The system then authenticates the collected identification information to provide the user access to operating system computer services. If the system logon authentication procedure is not successful, then the logon sequence displays its own user interface to collect additional identification information. The logon sequence then invokes the logon routines of other logon providers to enable them to authenticate already collected identification information without displaying additional user interfaces. A preferred embodiment enables the system logon sequence to use authentication information stored on a network to authenticate the user for access to local computing services. Also, logon providers can be provided for drivers other than network drivers when a logon mechanism is required to access their computing services. Further, using a primary logon provider, the initial logon user interface displayed to collect identification information can be replaced.

Method and system for authenticating access to heterogeneous computing

Sprinkler head mounting system for connecting a sprinkler head to a horizontal water supply pipe in an irrigation system (e.g., an agricultural irrigation system). In one embodiment the mounting system includes (a) a U-shaped tubular member connected to the water supply pipe, (b) a flexible tubular member coupled to the U-shaped member, (c) a conduit having inlet and outlet portions, (d) a riser connected to the outlet portion of the conduit, and (e) a counter-weight carried by the conduit for balancing the weight of the riser and sprinkler head. The mounting system prevents vibration from the sprinkler head from being transmitted to the water supply pipe.

An animated toy for use in conjunction with a vehicle comprising a body member having a pictorial representation of the upper body of a runner thereon, a leg member including plural leg portions resistant to air passing thereby pivotally mounted on the base member adjacent the pictorial representation of the upper body portion of the runner for providing the illusion of the runner running on rotation of the leg member due to air passing the leg member and means for mounting the animated toy on the vehicle on closing of the vehicle window on a support member for the toy.
