This disclosure presents various embodiments of a transforaminal intersomatic cage for an intervertebral fusion graft, and an instrument and method for implanting the cage, an embodiment of the cage having a body in the shape of a circular arc and comprising a lateral concave surface, a lateral convex surface, a straight upper surface, a straight lower surface and an end wall having at least one hole, called the end hole, designed to receive a rod of an instrument for implanting the cage between the vertebrae, wherein: the end hole has an orientation that is more or less tangential to the circular arc described by the body; the extremity opposite to the end wall of the body includes a return part extending the body toward the center of the circle on which the circular arc described by the body lies.

Transforaminal intersomatic cage for an intervertebral fusion graft and an instrument for implanting the cage

A vertebral support device () is disclosed, which in various embodiments comprises at least two osseous anchoring implants (), each designed to be anchored to a vertebra, and at least one linking element () fixed to the osseous anchoring implants () by fasteners () that maintain a fixed angle between the longitudinal axis (L) of the linking element () passing through rigid elements () of the linking element () and the insertion axis (DV) of the implants (). The linking element () includes at least one elastic dampening element () that that allows the implant-bearing vertebrae some freedom of movement. The dampening element () accommodates the stresses imposed on the linking element () during movement of the vertebrae and tends to return the support device () to its normal configuration.

Vertebral support device

A transverse spinal linking device links at least one spinal osteosynthesis bar to a transverse bar. The device may include a first part that has a vertical axis and a first jaw, a second part that has a second jaw, and a clamping resource. The first part may include a sliding surface, which may be inclined in relation to the vertical axis, and which may mate with at least one sliding surface of the second part. The sliding surfaces may be configured so that the descent of the second part results in an approach of the jaws, with the clamping action of the clamping resource causing the fixing and/or the locking of the device on the osteosynthesis bar and the fixing and/or the locking of the transverse bar.

Transverse spinal linking device and system

A surgical implant for fixation of the human spinal column in the treatment of scoliosis, particular in very young children. The device comprises a pair of elongate bars which are rigidly connected together to form a generally rectangular appliance, and wherein the lower portion of the device is slidably connected to the upper portion so that the device is capable of extension and contraction in the longitudinal direction. In the particular embodiment disclosed, the lower fixation element is formed as a pair of sleeves connected together by a cross member with the free end portions of the bars slidably received within the sleeves thereby permitting the aforementioned longitudinal extension. The device is implanted on the posterior side of the spinal column with the bars and sleeves wired to individual vertebrae to thereby stabilize the spinal column and prevent it from reassuming the prior scoliotic curve. The fact the the device is extensible in the longitudinal direction permits the device to extend with the growth of the spine thereby preventing trunk shortening, which is a problem with other appliances used for treatment of scoliosis.
