The present invention relates to a family of peptides which are able to interfere in the formation of complex Munc18-Syntaxin-1 and, hence, are useful in the prevention and/or treatment of neuronal exocytosis and/or muscle contractility disorders; and to prevent, reduce and/or eliminate skin aging and/or expression signs.

Peptides and compositions for use in cosmetics and medicine

Peptides of general formula (I): R-W-X-AA-AA-AA-AA-AA-AA-Y-Z-Rtheir stereoisomers, mixtures thereof and/or their cosmetically or pharmaceutically acceptable salts, their preparation process, cosmetic or pharmaceutical compositions which contain them and their use in the treatment and/or care of conditions, disorders and/or diseases that are a consequence of muscle contraction.

Peptide-based compounds and compositions which inhibit muscle contraction

The peptide has a sequence of 3 to 30 adjacent amino acids from the amino end of protein SNAP-25 and is useful as neuronal exocytosis inhibitor. The cosmetic and pharmaceutical compositions contain said peptide and optionally one or more peptides from the carboxyl end of SNAP-25. The compositions are suitable for the treatment of facial wrinkles, asymmetry and pathological neuronal exocytosis-mediated pathological disorders and alterations.

Treatments employing neuronal exocytosis-inhibiting peptides
