A planning device that generates control data for a treatment apparatus which produces at least one cut surface in the cornea by application of a laser device. The invention further relates to a treatment apparatus having a planning device of the aforementioned type. The invention further relates to a method of generating control data for this treatment apparatus, and also to a method for eye surgery, at least one cut surface being produced in the cornea by application of a treatment apparatus with a laser device. The planning device has a calculation application that defines corneal cut surfaces, including a lenticule cut and a cap cut, the incision being controlled by the control data such that mutually corresponding locations of the lenticule cut and cap cut are impinged by laser pulses during substantially the same time interval.

Eye-surgical treatment apparatus

A treatment device for the surgical correction of hyperopia in the eye comprising a laser device controlled by a control device. The laser device separating corneal tissue by applying laser radiation. The control device controls the laser device for emitting the laser radiation into the cornea such that a lenticule-shaped volume is isolated. Removal thereof effects the desired correction. The control device predefines the volume such that a posterior surface and an anterior surface are connected via an edge surface that has a width in projection along the visual axis that is wider than the one which a straight line in the same projection, that is perpendicular at the edge of the posterior or the anterior surface would have relative to the associated surface and connects the anterior surface to the posterior surface or to the perceived extension thereof.

Re-treatment for ophthalmic correction of refraction

Ophthalmological laser therapy system with lighting assembly

An ophthalmological laser therapy positioning device which facilitates accurate positioning of the laser therapy system vis-à-vis the patient's eye. The positioning device includes a first and a second recording unit, which provide recording data from different recording directions, a displacement unit that displaces the relative position of the eye vis-à-vis an optical opening of the laser therapy system on the basis of control commands, and a control unit that generates control commands on the basis of the recording data. The device produces the control data such that the laser emits the laser radiation such that a volume in the cornea is isolated. The device calculates a radius of curvature R* to determine the control data, the cornea reduced by the volume having the radius of curvature R* and the radius of curvature being site-specific and satisfying the following equation: R*(r,φ)=1/((1/R(r,φ))+B(r,φ)/(n−1))+F, wherein R(r,φ) is the local radius of curvature of the cornea before the volume is removed, nis the refractive index of the material of the cornea, F is a coefficient, and B(r,φ) is the local change in refractive force required for the desired correction of defective vision in a plane lying in the vertex of the cornea, and at least two radii r1 and r2 satisfy the equation B(r=r1,φ)≠B(r=r2,φ).

Device and method for producing control data for the surgical correction of defective eye vision

A device for isolating a lenticle in the cornea of an eye. The device includes: a laser beam source to emit pulsed laser radiation having a pulse frequency of 1.2 MHz to 10 MHz, a pulse energy of 1 nJ to 200 nJ and a wavelength penetrating the cornea; a beam-forming unit having beam optics with an image field and that bundles pulsed laser radiation into a focus located inside the image field, and which has a maximum diameter of less than 3 μm; a beam-deflection unit shifting the focus in the cornea and inside the image field, the focus moving along a path when the image field is resting; and a control unit to control the source and the beam-forming unit to isolate the lenticle by specifying the path. The lenticle is delimited by a cut surface which is curved with regard to a front surface of the cornea.

Creation of curved cuts in the inside of the eye cornea

A lens element and a one-piece contact apparatus having a lens element and a holding device for fixing a patient's eye to a laser applicator of an ophthalmological laser therapy system and a corresponding production method. The production method is conceptually simple and user-friendly and allows a high degree of automation while at the same time meeting the high requirements for mechanical and optical precision of the lens element. The lens element has an optically effective zone and a joining zone. The joining zone also has a functional zone for joining the lens element to a holding device which is arranged continuously circumferentially or interrupted circumferentially at the outer edge of the lens element. The contact apparatus includes a lens element and a holding device, which are permanently connected to one another, wherein the lens element and the holding device are not connected to one another by adhesive-bonding.

An optical system for a laser therapy instrument for the application of laser radiation on and in the eye, includes a femtosecond laser, an objective. The objective or at least one lens or lens group of the objective is shiftable in the direction of the optical axis being intended for shifting of the focus position from the region of the cornea to the region of the crystalline lens and vice versa. The optical system may include at least two optical assemblies designed for the axial variation of the focus of the therapeutic laser radiation, with the focus variation range Δz differing between the individual assemblies and a changing device, designed for the insertion of any one of these assemblies into the therapeutic laser beam path at a time.

A treatment apparatus for operatively correcting myopia or hyperopia in an eye includes a laser device controlled by a control device and that separates the corneal tissue by applying a laser beam. The control device controls the laser device to emit the laser beam into the cornea such that a lenticule-shaped volume is isolated in the cornea. The control device, when controlling the laser device, predefines the lenticule-shaped volume such that the volume has a minimum thickness of between 5 and 50 &#x3bc;m. For myopia correction, the minimum thickness occurs on the edge of the volume, and for hyperopia correction the minimum thickness occurs in the region of the visual axis.
