An access control system with at least one entrance lane () has two or more antenna coils (to) arranged in pairs mutually opposing each other. Each antenna coil pair (or) is actuated by a reading device () for reading out a transponder () carried by the user, the transponder () having a transponder coil () coupleable with the antenna coils (to). The two mutually opposing antenna coils (or) of a pair are actuated at the same time, but alternately either in an in-phase or antiphase operation mode. For reading out the transponder () carried by the user the one operation mode, with which the transponder () is detected, is maintained until the reading transaction is completed.

RFID enabled access control system

An access control system has at least two antenna coils (and) arranged one behind the other at an entrance lane () and connected to a reading device (), which with a capacitance () form an oscillating circuit (). Here either the one oscillating circuit () with the in entrance direction () first antenna coil () or the other oscillating circuit with the second antenna coil () is actuated by the reading device (), in order to read out data for the purpose of access authorization from a transponder () which is carried by a user and has a transponder coil () coupleable with the antenna coils (to). The oscillating circuit () not actuated by the reading device () is detuned or short-circuited.

Access control system having multiple sensing antenna coils

A rotating barrier having a rotating arm assembly has at least one blocking arm which is formed at least over part of its length by a resiliently flexible core piece and is provided with an outer sheath.

Rotating barrier

A system has a plurality of groups of service facilities, each facility having an access control device with a read/write device for a contactless data carrier. The read/write devices of each group are networked with a separate database provided for each group. The data carrier has an identification number and a transaction counter with a transaction number which is changed upon a change of application data stored thereon. The application data, the identification number and the transaction number are stored in the database of the group to which the user goes for access. Upon access to a service facility, only the identification number and the transaction number are read from the data carrier. If the identification number and transaction number match with the identification number and transaction number stored in the database, the application data is retrieved from the database, and in case of a valid access authorization, the access control device permits access without reading application data from the data carrier.

System having a plurality of service facilities with access control devices

Apparatus for the individual monitoring of parking positions of a parking facility comprises a sensor () for vehicle detection and optical indicator means () for indicating the occupied/free status of a parking position (). Sensor () has a transmit aerial () to radio the occupied/free status of parking position () to the parking facility control center. The optical indicator means () comprises a bistable indicating element.

Apparatus for monitoring individual parking positions

An access control apparatus has a blocking device () that is actuated by an actuator, and an authentication reader (), upon reading a valid access authorization the blocking device () moving into the release position. For detecting a wheel chair () and/or pram in the area of the blocking device () a sensor () is provided, which does not activate the actuator for moving the blocking device () from the release position into the blocking position until the wheel chair () or pram has left its detection area.

Access control apparatus

A method of ordering location-specific services in which RFID or NFC interaction between an RFID or NFC-enabled portable device or a mobile telephone of a user, on the one hand, and a location and service-specific smartposter comprising at least one RFID or NFC label or tag or a location and service-specific RFID or NFC label affixed to an object such as a smartposter, on the other hand, is used to set up an activatable link to the portable device or mobile telephone. A connection to a server operated by the service provider is established following link activation. Location information relating to the RFID or NFC label is communicated to the service provider's server, the contents of the server page corresponding to the link depending on the location information transmitted by the RFID or NFC label. The user is then capable of ordering location-specific services after the connection has been set up.

Method of ordering location-specific services

At an access control device () with a reading device () for data carriers (), on which access authorization and identification details are stored, a camera () is envisaged that takes digitized photographs of the users of the access control device (), which are then stored in a database () together with the identification details read from the data carrier () by the reading device (). An official () operates a terminal with a screen () that communicates with the database (), through which the identification details on the data carrier () are verified, and to which the stored photograph of the user of the data carrier (), taken by the camera () during access to the access control device () by the user, is transmissible for visual comparison with the user being checked ().

Access control system

A vehicle detection device with a parking gate and a parking stand includes a geomagnetic field sensor in the parking stand for detecting a vehicle at the parking stand and/or a geomagnetic field sensor in the parking gate for detecting a vehicle beneath the opened parking gate.

Parking control device

A device for controlling passage in two passage directions has a blocking device for the singling of persons and a card reading unit having a slot for inserting a card, both disposed on a frame. The card reading unit, which upon validly reading the card actuates the blocking device for releasing the passage, is slewably mounted on the frame and is slewable with an actuator as to direct the card insertion slot to a person stepping in front of the blocking device from both the one or the other passage direction.

Passage control device

A non-contact-type access authorization reading device on an access control apparatus () reads an access authorization stored in a data carrier () received by an object (ski) which the user carries near the ground. The reading device has an antenna () disposed in the ground area and is connected to an evaluation unit which releases the access () upon reading of a valid access authorization. To provide the data carrier () with an access authorization, a copy-over data carrier () is acquired which stores a coding authorization for an access authorization. A copy-over reading device reads the coding authorization on the copy-over data carrier (), and a coding device contactlessly codes the access authorization on the access authorization data carrier (), the coding authorization being deleted after coding.

A rotating barrier for a gateway () has a rotatable blocking element () having a single blocking arm () which blocks the gateway () in the blocking position and is rotated between the blocking positions by 360&#xb0; in each case. Further provided are an access authorization reader () and a people sensor () whose detection area () is located in front of the blocking arm () in the blocking position thereof.

An access control apparatus has a blocking element () which is moved by a motor () or similar actuator controlled via a control means. Provided are a first access authorization reader (), a second access authorization reader () after the first access authorization reader () in the area of the blocking element () as well as a people sensor () before the blocking element (). The motor () can be driven by the first access authorization reader () in the normal case, that is, upon valid reading of access authorization by the first access authorization reader (), by the second access authorization reader () upon detection of a person and invalid reading of access authorization by the first access authorization reader (), and by the first access authorization reader again upon valid reading of access authorization of the detected person by the second access authorization reader ().

A magnetic field sensor is provided alongside a roadway in order to detect vehicles. A permanent magnet is installed in the roadway at such a distance from the magnetic field sensor that the magnetic field of the permanent magnet is stronger than the geomagnetic field at the magnetic field sensor

Device for detecting vehicles

A barrier is formed such that its barrier arm automatically moves back to its blocking position after forceful opening of the barrier.The barrier arm is pivotally mounted to a barrier post about a horizontal axis. The barrier post is formed to include a swivel joint having a vertical axis around which the barrier arm swivels upon forceful opening.
