An apparatus for transporting and exchanging containers of textile strand material at a textile strand processing machine having a plurality of processing stations is disclosed. The device includes a guide device for guiding containers around the machine. An endless drive connection reciprocally movable in the transport path and having flexible portions reciprocally movable through the corner sections of the transport path is included as well as a drive means for reciprocally driving the drive connection. Container engaging elements are also provided for drivingly engaging containers during movement of the drive connection. The drive connection may include rods disposed in the straight portions of the transport path which are connected to the flexible portions. The container engaging elements may comprise pawls mounted on transverse shafts which may be spring biased into the container engaging dispositions. The drive may act directly on at least one of the rods, a sprocket located at the corner sections and the flexible portions.

Device for transporting and exchanging containers of textile strand

An equipment for transporting, handling and feeding stock bobbins to a loom having a preparation station (5) for the charging of bobbin holders (12) with stock bobbins (4) and a transport loop (7) for transporting these bobbin holders (12) towards looms. The looms are arranged in groups and for returning bobbin holders (12') containing empty bobbin tubes towards the preparation station (5), as well as at least one storage section (7c) branching off the transport loop (7) for receiving a number of the bobbin holders (12, 12') which corresponds with the need of bobbins at the time by at least one of the groups of looms (1a, 1b, . . . 1n). For the exchange of the bobbin holders (12' or 12 respectively) on the looms a loading mechanism (18) is provided which is mounted on a secondary transport mechanism (10) which may be moved independently of the transport loop (7) towards a number of groups of looms (1a, 1b, . . . 1n) and is intended for temporarily receiving the bobbin holders (12, 12') which may be fed from and returned to the storage section (7c). Through this execution a simple clearly arranged method of construction of the equipment is achieved, which makes possible a loading of the looms with stock bobbins to match the needs, which may be automated in a simple manner.

Equipment for transporting and handling weft-yarn stock bobbins

A mechanism for feeding weft yarn stock bobbins to a loom includes a bobbin frame (3) for at least two stock bobbins (4) which may be fitted to bobbin holders (38) having longitudinal axes (L) which may be aligned on a common yarn guide member (6). The bobbin holders (38) are each formed on a bobbin carrier (10, 10') intended for receiving one of the stock bobbins (4) and able by means of a holder (30) of a charging mechanism to be fastened to the bobbin frame (3) and removed from the bobbin frame, the bobbin carrier having a yarn guide unit (45) for feeding the piece (A) at the start of the weft yarn (5) wound onto this stock bobbin (4) to the common yarn guide member (6). The yarn guide unit (45) is formed on a carrier part (44) able to swing between a normal position suitable for seizing the starting piece (A) and a deflected position in which in an operating position of the bobbin carrier (10, 10') predetermined on the bobbin frame (3) and aligned with the yarn guide member (6), the yarn guide unit (45) may be set in a definite yarn delivery position and may be brought together with the yarn guide member (6). A simplification of the charging process and delivery of the yarn is accordingly achievable.

Feeding and removing weft yarn stock bobbins to a loom bobbin frame

A transport system for transporting tube support members between textile machines includes a mobile transport unit having a plurality of superposed floorings each of which supports and guides several rows of the tube support members. An onsite transfer assembly adjacent each textile machine is operable to simultaneously load tube support members onto the parallel support paths of the mobile support unit while unloading tube support members from the parallel paths onto the textile machine. Each flooring of the mobile support unit includes a transverse support surfaces at each end of the parallel support paths onto which a newly loaded row of tube support members can be positioned for subsequent movement into the parallel support paths. Each flooring also includes an offload transverse support surface for supporting a row of the tube support members for transverse movement thereof onto an intermediate holding assembly of the onsite transfer apparatus (change assembly to apparatus above). An onload platform device is operable to move a plurality of tube support members to a selected vertical position adjacent each of the floorings of the mobile support unit for transfer of the tube support members on the onload platform device onto the onload transverse support surface of the flooring. An offload platform device is operable to receive a plurality of the tube support members which have been offloaded from one of the floorings to vertically move the tube support members to another vertical level at which the tube support members are advanced along an entry path to the textile machine.

A transporting carriage for conveying a coiler can of curved outer circumferential surface in an upright orientation between a can stand of a sliver producing fiber processing machine and a can stand of a sliver comsuming fiber processing machine includes an apparatus for transferring the coiler can from the carriage to the can stand and from the can stand to the carriage in a linear transferring direction. The apparatus includes a gripper element having a jaw opening defined by an inner concave surface of the gripper element for engaging the coiler can along a portion of the curved outer circumferential surface; a turning mechanism for rotating the gripper element along a path generally parallel to the curvilinear length to alter an orientation of the jaw opening; and a linear shifting arrangement for linearly displacing the gripper element parallel to the linear transferring direction for placing the gripper element into a first position in which it is situated within an outline of the carriage and into a second position in which it is situated externally of the outline.

An apparatus for transporting sliver cans between a sliver can handling location and a textile spinning machine includes a rod member having a plurality of uniformly spaced engaging members. A pair of preferably plastic, parallel sliding rails each extend parallel to the rod member on a respective side thereof for supporting the sliver cans for sliding movement therealong. The rod member is supported for axial and rotational movement and is operatively connected to a drive device which cyclically axially displaces the rod member by a uniform amount of travel corresponding to a uniform spacing between the sliver cans. The rod member is rotated 90.degree. to move the engaging members between horizontal disengage positions in which they are out of engagement with the sliver cans and vertical engage positions in which the engaging members project vertically for engaging the bottom rim portions of the sliver cans during axial displacement of the rod member. In one modification, the rod member is supported by a plurality of slide blocks each associated with a respective one of the engaging members and having a radial slot for permitting movement of the associated engaging member between its engage and disengage positions.

A conveyor apparatus for advancing articles in a direction of conveyance, including a conveyor track on which the articles are supported; an endless driven conveyor element and an article carrier device including an article carrier element pivotally supported on the endless driven conveyor element. The article carrier element comprises a pivotal lever and a carrier lug formed on the pivotal lever. Longitudinal bar members are selectively operated to transfer the full sliver cans in groupwise manner from the inner track components to the outer track component to allow another row of full cans to be supplied to the final can ready position and to transfer the rows of full sliver cans to the double rows of the draw frame. The cart carries a plurality of cop magazines and an associated means for automatically depositing cops into a magazine in a cop receiving position. The present invention provides a respective transport apparatus in end-facing relation to each spinning machine for automatically bringing magazines to the machine for filling with doffed cops. A cart travels transversely intermediate the machines and their associated magazine transport apparatus to receive doffed cops from the machine conveyors and transfer them automatically into magazines provided on the associated magazine transport apparatus.

This measure can be determined in such a way that a thread can be fed from the thread reserve to a package to be produced or already present on the coil carrier, without becoming jammed.
